I make film zines. It used to be my job to write about weird movies, it's not my job now but it's still good to do. I put lots of work into the zines because I don't like essays to be basic. Below, covers for zines about Hitchcock, lesbian vampires, and Scream, all handmade. sara-century.square.site

NEW (PREMIUM) EPISODE! Together with @cacomixpod.bsky.social, we're diving into the vast expanse of KNIGHTFALL, the Bat-epic that introduced Bane and Azrael to Gotham in the process of laying the Caped Crusader low—a glimpse of the nameless dread mounting at the end of history.

I'm not moving for two months and I'm not sure where I will live or work, but I'm already locking down a volunteer position because that's one thing that always makes me feel like I belong in a city. When I'm not volunteering anywhere locally, I feel totally unmoored.

Was at the Graymalkin Lane podcast retreat last week, talked about the X-Men, did a PowerPoint about lesbian vampires, and stayed in the hot tub for as long as I humanly could. I'm not in any photos though because I'm the photographer lmao. The trip is over but the group chat continues ❤️

The Senate bill is rooted in the idea that we just need to get BP/ICE "back to" only terrorizing people we deem worthy of being terrorized, and not White people. The exact problematic understanding people have been trying to warn against... While a lot of White people insisted that concern was silly

I'll be living in Milwaukee starting April Fool's Day. I have a temp sublet but I'll be looking for a place to live for me/my pets and also a job, so that's slightly nerve-wracking. But let's not stress about that yet, it's two months out and there's much to stress about in the meantime 😅

Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

This is so funny. I think I can agree that Myrna Loy really would not have liked working with Hitchcock 😂
“I doubt very much that we would have gotten along.” - Unpublished Myrna Loy thought about Alfred Hitchcock, revealed here for the first time.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Damn, that's rough. Sal Buscema was that guy. One of those Spider-Man artists that I read pretty early on in my getting into comics and he really made the character feel next level. 90 years old is a great run, but it always feels too soon. Appreciate the stories, man. Rest easy.

Very sorry this happened, quoting just to add that I'm being totally dead serious that like 20% of my job as a creative over the last couple years is filtering through scam job offers that are getting better and better at seeming legit. Be careful out there 💖
ITS A SCAM. THE JOB IS A SCAM.
Jfc this is so targeted. Recruiting emails. A nice website & game sample on Steam. Interview focusing on storyboarding skills. Portfolio review. Official employment letter. Onboarding emails across two days. Then they hit me with wanting me to cash a check. 😫

I've been researching the X-Men zines I'm gonna make for like two years, I'm finally actually starting the writing. It's going to be a series of 3 minimum. #1 will be about the importance of legacy in the X-Men, or Why The O5 Are The Most Messed Up Because They Had The Closest Proximity To Xavier.

This photo just popped back up in my notifications because a few people found it, I just spent a big chunk of the past week with these two so let's not forget Daryl's Alpha Flight book remains a must-read and Chad is a very good interviewer.
At @theuncannyexp.bsky.social watching Chad Anderson interview @maconfleetwood.bsky.social about his new Alpha Flight book, True North. This book bangs! Pick it up! If you're at the show today Daryl is gonna be walking around with copies so wave him down 💖 photo by me of course

All of my art of any medium is very political, you can't separate stuff like horror stories and superhero comics from politics no matter what anyone says. In fact, those two genres are specifically ALWAYS political. Who or what scares you is political, who or what you see as a villain is political.
