Hey all, I'm officially turning my focus towards freelance editing, writing, and creative consulting.

If you need help with your project be it comic, webcomic, prose, TTRPG, or even videogame -- I have the tools needed to help you make it better.

Let's make some awesome stuff together!
Today I was laid off from Dark Horse Comics. While devastating news, I'm so proud of what I helped make there and am grateful to have worked alongside such amazing coworkers and creators.

I'm not quitting comics yet, so if you or someone you know needs a savvy editor please reach out.

Some BETTER LETTERER for you. And before the inevitable "that's not how I do it" replies, keep in mind that, by and large, this is how it's done in pro American comics (Marvel, DC, etc.) I've worked for all of them. More tips: blambot.com/pages/letter...

Mid 20s roommates and I just started watching Brothers. I had to ask them if they were aware of the movie Twins. Ya know, the movie staring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. They didn't. That led to a history lesson on the time Arnie was a pregnant man:

Glad to see Polygon cover the resistance of game developers to generative AI--and to be able to speak briefly to one of the greatest dangers of this entire thing.

Gen AI doubles down on making MORE SPACE for production issues that *already make games worse.*

I want to work for a publisher that puts its creators first, treats their employees with respect and compensates them fairly, and is willing to hear out new ideas and try new things.

If you are one of those publishers or work at one that is serious about making great comics, hit me up. I'm ready.

Interesting... "Backdoor layoffs" is one heck of a term. Take that to the Jeopardy board.
600 Paramount Skydance employees quit instead of returning to the office, and it cost the company $185 million, filings show
CEO David Ellison offered workers an ultimatum in September: Come back to work or find a new job.

I feel like not enough people are talking about this part of the quote: "if we were able to craft an answer for him..."

Like yes, Wolff's response is crazy. But to me, that part is Epstein passively admitting to Wolff that (he believed) Trump would say whatever he wanted him too.
🚨BREAKING:
2015 email shows journalist Michael Wolff advising Jeffrey Epstein on how to handle Donald Trump.

“You can hang him in a way that generates a benefit for you… or save him, generating a debt.”

Epstein’s reply: “What do you think it should be?”

This is one of my favorite things I’ve ever written, hope you check it out.
If you like folk horror comics check out Double Walker (2021) by @michaelwconrad.bsky.social and Noah Bailey. This is a Scottish Highlands themed traditional folk horror story. Very dark and to the bone. I read this a couple of years ago and like to go back and visit it on a cold Autumn evening

I've yet to hear a good argument for it by the way.
Like... how is it that these publishers can afford to rent the office space but not afford to pay their workers a livable wage?

Shifting to remote would save them soooo much money?
Or even moving the office to a more affordable area.
Publishing (as an industry) needs to be decentralized from NYC.

Sincerely, what is the argument for keeping so much of the labor force "in office" three days a week in one of the most expensive cities on the planet? While Publishers continue to pay editors, designers, etc monstrously low wages...

People are afraid to talk about this, and I understand why. Retaliation. Social stigma. Shame.

But publishing employees deserve so much better y'all. You've got no idea how low their compensation is, especially compared to the profits they generate.

Afraid to comment? DM me, let's talk about pay

This is insane to hear him admit to and advocate for on the public record. Ignore the headline, watch the video, because he is openly advocating for the Republican party to throw away the Constitution and ignore or "sidestep" checks and balances, "before it is too late"

He is committing treason.

I hope y'all are feeling some sort of momentum in a positive direction. We gotta water hope whenever we find it, celebrate small victories. Because undoing all the damage of these tyrants is going to be slow, difficult work and even stopping them is looking like a task for Prometheus. We can do it.

I've really gotta thank all y'all out there who have had my back and recommended me to folks as an editor. The job market is dismal right now and these short gigs have been great.

When the whole world has felt like it's crumbling some days, the indie comics and TTRPG communities have been there.
