Ending this operation is not enough.

We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.

There’s a vote in DC tomorrow that would give DHS $11 billion more in funding. Schumer and Jeffries have already walked back any “demands” they had for DHS.

I, for one, do not think this timing is just a coincidence. Turn down the temp for the vote. Turn it right back up when the bag is secured.

The main way the Trump Administration lies is by telling people what they want to hear. That’s why all their supporters fall for it over and over—they *want* to believe.

I will assume this is a Trojan Horse until proven otherwise.

North Minneapolis is resilient. They have been rallying together to support one another in a completely grassroots and community-led effort to keep one another safe.

They asked me to share this hoping to prevent the displacement of more families in North Minneapolis.

I keep turning those numbers around and around in my head. During the coldest stretch of the winter we got an average of 34 hot meals a day to unhoused ppl & ppl experiencing food insecurity. We’re nearing 1000 burritos, plus 100s of tacos, tamales & dozens of pizzas. Pastries from local panaderias.
It’s been another busy week dealing with the ICE occupation in Minneapolis, but I wanted to give you a Burrito update!

We started this project just over 5 weeks ago, and since then we’ve provided over 1150 meals for people, and spent almost $12k at local, immigrant-owned restaurants!

🌯 Big burrito update 🌯
With good feels & a way to keep paying it forward exponentially.

You donate to feed unhoused folks & it's done by placing large orders with local immigrant-owned businesses, keeping people fed while keeping others afloat financially!

It's truly beautiful!

Maya is one of my favorite spots. Amazing food, kind people. Their storefront being dark these past weeks has hurt.

But tonight, there was a light on Central. The smell of something incredible in the air.

They’re opening tomorrow for the first time in weeks.

Let's show up for them.

Going forward, it is vital that the Mayor hear our city’s concerns and refrain from holding these kinds of meetings on City property and keep ICE away from our at-risk residents and employees.

If the Mayor needs to meet with the border czar or other high-level ICE officials, as he has done in the past, these meetings must take place off of City property to protect our residents and our workers.

I have heard from staff and their unions that workers at the City of Minneapolis have been abducted by ICE while on the job or while coming to and from work. This lays out clearly why the City must be vigilant in the enforcement of the separation ordinance.
