Dems, this isn't that hard. Trump is (1) incompetent and (2) only about enriching himself and his cronies. Anything coming out of his mouth is an attempt to distract from (1) and (2). Repeat as needed.
Senate Democrats lack "muscle memory" of how to win in Senate. The filibuster is a tool to force majority to allow up or down votes on amendments to pending bills. 51 votes and it's in the bill: that's how the Senate worked for decades. If Dem Leadership won't fight for that, we need new leaders.

I'm sorry but I can't go along with self-congratulatory takes that 'the Dems really won.' No way. You win when you make a difference. This result does nothing. A vote on a bill that would die in the House is saving face, not making a difference. The American people deserve better.

There's all the difference in the world between attaching an amendment to a must-pass bill and having an up or down vote on a freestanding bill the House can bury. Don't be fooled.

Musk's stake in Tesla is worth roughly $180 billion. A hypothetical econo-rational person with that large a stake in a company would *want* to be in charge of it if he thinks that would maximize his fortune; indeed he might even pay for the right to maximize his wealth. Not this greedy man...

After the election results, in the counterfactual world in which the GOP is not hostage to MAGA, GOP Reps and Sens in districts/states that went for Biden or for Trump by less than 5% would be begging the leadership to end the shutdown, the tariffs, and ICE's excesses. Don't hold your breath...

How about a televised live IQ test between Trump and AOC? If she wins, he resigns; if he wins, she resigns. A sure thing.
Trump: AOC is low IQ. If you give her an IQ test, have her pass like the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. Those are very hard…

Trump's demolition of the East Wing is the act of an emotional two-year-old. Sad to say, he's taken a dump in our national living room as an act of defiance of mommy and daddy. That's what we're dealing with -- with no checks and balances, except us.

Wrecking crews completely removed the decades-old annex by midday Thursday, just three days after they started, to make way for a pet project of President Trump: a 90,000-square-foot ballroom.

As Sam Rayburn said to Lyndon Johnson, "you may be right and they may be every bit as intelligent as you say, but I’d feel a whole lot better about them if just one of them had run for sheriff once”
Not to diminish law review articles & law school committee work, but right now law professors should be working collectively on an intellectual & service project of immense, existential importance: building consensus around a revolutionary constitutional framework-of a Reconstruction 2.0 magnitude.
