Censoring the internet or restricting social media will not result in less queer people, it will just increase the amount of queer people who suffer needlessly before discovering themselves.
Of course, for homophobes and transphobes, this is a bonus feature and not a flaw. They like us suffering.

Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

as a writer, you meet two types of hopefuls: people who like to write and people who want to be writers. It's the former who actually succeed – you need to love this, not as a means to an end but for itself entirely.
Sometimes I wonder if our many years of jokes about writers hating writing and doing anything but writing, etc, have convinced people that the writing part is the hurdle and the goal is just to have a thing in hand. But I am here to tell you: the writing is the best part. The act is the thing.
