I’m PROBABLY not the most boring person alive.
Just this guy, you know?

He/Him
Shouldn’t fund ICE (or CBP), period.

Not the MOST flattering picture of Precious, I’ll admit.

Hi folks! Can't believe I have to say this, but if you see people talking about how cool LessWrong, Effective Altruism, or other related TESCREAL (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TESCREAL) ideologies are in your larp space, please squash that shit immediately.

Edible Temperature Take: Both Steven Pinker & Peter Singer bear large amounts of direct responsibility for the worst turns in contemporary western culture— especially concerning the popular understanding of ethics & society— & should be ostracized from the canon & public intellectualism as a whole 👍🏾

… that’s a lot of sunlight in a setting without much of a proper sun.

If Moderna is no longer bringing vaccine trials for Epstein-Barr virus (good evidence that EB causes Multiple Sclerosis), herpes, and shingles because of Trump appointees, I want prison time for those appointees.

This might be dooming millions to disease they don’t have to experience.

people want a Zelda movie to be "what if Ocarina of Time was LotR" when what it should be is an 80-minute anime OVA released in the early 90's with the weirdest plot you've ever seen and at least one original character who was so endearing that it physically hurts they aren't in any of the games

Been feeling that pretty hard lately too. :(

Mother fucker. The fire trucks are back. What the hell.

Right, no risk, just… not always fun? At least for me.

I think vanilla highmates expanded has catgirls? But I haven‘t used it.

I’ve enjoyed all the DLC! I assume you have the biotech one if you’re asking about genotypes- I like the “vanilla expanded” line of mods for a lot of things, though figuring out which to bother with can be a chore.

But… all characters in Greek myth are different portrayal to portrayal. Every single one of them is a different character story to story.

(Plus really that was a Superman story with Greek myth trimmings and there’s no point worrying about it)
February 13, 2026 at 1:44 AM
Which is a DIFFERENT issue than my roommate was having (the idea that Zeus is a rapist and thus a positive portrayal is bad). That professor’s complaint was my issue with Hercules when it came out!
February 13, 2026 at 1:44 AM
Oh, I’m not worried about spoilers- I probably already spoiled myself, and just don’t remember this moment. I just couldn’t play the game when it because my computer was a decade old mac (since replaced!), so I didn’t pay much attention at the time.
February 13, 2026 at 1:39 AM
Even the sources which have survived are wildly contradictory! Hesiod’s Theogony and the Homeric hymns have so many contradictions- because different people told different stories.
February 13, 2026 at 1:35 AM
I have to play that still. But yeah, what I saw of that was hellish.
February 13, 2026 at 1:33 AM
YEP. There‘s whole reams of context to the versions we have left, and non-classics folks mostly have none of that! And how Christianity’s mythology is treated is mostly radically different from the ancient Mediterranean‘s!
February 13, 2026 at 1:32 AM
By the same token, marginally less fucked up family olympus from Hades isn’t a gross violation of how they “really were”- it was a different version of things. There isn’t a canon to contradict. Having multiple contradictory versions isn’t covering something up!
February 13, 2026 at 1:30 AM
And it’s possible to have stories and portrayals of Zeus that this doesn’t touch on- and that isn’t “covering up” some essential aspect of Zeus, even though folks tend to act like that’s the case. (Disney having happy family Zeus was what caused this argument)
February 13, 2026 at 1:26 AM
Or a central authority to define one!
February 13, 2026 at 1:24 AM
So the fact that Zeus (and most of the Greek gods) is a sexual predator in a lot of the versions of the stories that survive isn’t really… relevant… to the religious function of temples. It didn’t make rape (bird based or otherwise) allowed!
February 13, 2026 at 1:24 AM
Specifically, how there isn’t a canon to Greek myth. From what I remember religious rite seems only loosely connected (if at all) to the stories- and when it was it may have been as often a back formation as anything else.
February 13, 2026 at 1:22 AM
After a weird argument about Greek mythology, I just realized what the problem is: canonicity or lack thereof. Rather than start a pointless argument back up irl, I’m going to ramble about it here.
