when someone gets into knitting, crochet, sewing and such things for the first time, the universe should deliver unto them a tin of biscuits. both encouragement and destiny fulfilment for what the tin will ultimately get used for: CRAFTY BITS

With this part of Poland not celebrating independence until the German temporary squatters were forcefully evicted a few months later, St. Martin's Day eclipsed the independence celebrations, leading to funny scenes as Warsaw endures the far-right march and Poznań eats a lot of this:

🇵🇱🥐 It's 11 November, which is Remembrance Day for most of Europe, Independence Day for Poland, and St. Martin's Day for Poznań and Greater Poland, so I managed to get a hold of St. Martin's croissants at a Polski Sklep in Berlin and serve my colleagues this croissant bowl.

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

related to this; when "Male gaze" became a pejorative I was kind of realizing no one actually understood the critique, much like the Bechdel test, in that it was an observation of a subconscious bias everyone repeats without thinking. If you *intend* on a male audience, the male gaze is successful!
The thing is like if we want to fight back against prudery and sex negativity we also have to stop referring to stuff as 'gooner art' and accept that nsfw shit that reads as 'for the male gaze' has as much a right to exist as your favourite yaoi

Our huge, heartfelt thanks to Sam Fender, who’s donated his £25,000 Mercury Prize winnings to Music Venue Trust... after already making sure £1 from every ticket on his recent tour went to support grassroots music venues.

In the century leading up to 1975, nearly 6000 freighters went down in the Great Lakes.

The Edmund Fitzgerald was the last.

The last. In 50 years, not a single commercial freighter has been lost in the Great Lakes.

Why?

It's NOAA. Of course it's NOAA.

The answer is Austen cos Austen could write a novel about an unhinged creator playing god with her creation’s lives (Emma) whereas Shelley could not write Pride & Prejudice (I mean, Lodore? Falkner?)
You can only pick one. I’m sorry.

Jane Austen or Mary Shelley
