This reminds me: I’m totally out of shrew polish
I have been printing these out and leaving them lying around on desks in the office. Nobody throws receipts away in offices just in case they are important.

Ballad of Wallis Island for the best British film BAFTA, please, or we - very politely and wearing cardigans - riot.

I needed some new boots, and the second I got them home my husband looked at them and said: “Wearing those while you pick your next Traitors, are you?”
And you know what? He’s not entirely wrong.

Another week, another storm warning. We’ve had more than enough rain here recently, but I really feel for Devon & especially for Cornwall, who look like they’re both about to get hammered again.

It is genuinely funny that Reform are now basically the Tories

I think at this point the UK has accepted Paddington as the Death Bear, collector of souls. So, I think as a nation we should start smearing marmalade on the eyes of the dead and whisper “fare for the crossing”. It’ll feel weird now but, in three of four generations, no one will question it.

Please, if you’ve never seen these films: watch them. They’re masterpieces.
Next Saturday, January 31st, from 11.05am BBC2 is showing a brace of Powell & Pressburger masterpieces - first, the absolutely gorgeous restoration of I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING followed by the incredible A MATTER OF LIFE & DEATH... #FilmSky

Husband just decided to be helpful and empty the 5 litre dehumidifier… and then dropped the reservoir in the middle of the kitchen floor. So much water. So much. Send towels, my hoopy froods.

Worth remembering when looking at the horrific scenes in the US right now that both Reform and the Tories have pledged to bring in ICE-style organisations to the UK if they win power

Just so we're clear, and so a tiny handful of wankers online don't create the wrong impression, the vast majority of your European friends are incredibly impressed by Minnesotans' courage against both the ice and ICE.

Delighted to confirm that this year’s M&S Big Tin is now fulfilling its true destiny: replacing the useless plastic Celebrations tub as my sewing box.

I’ve really enjoyed Lucy Worsley’s Victorian Murder Club (although the story of the Thames Torso Murderer does need a strong stomach) but I don’t understand the point of the AI colourised and animated photos: I’m not sure they brought anything to the experience of watching, and felt… gimmicky?

Well, I for one cannot work out why my ex-Army neighbour is in such a bad mood today. What could possibly have rattled someone like him, who saw active duty in several dusty war zones? It’s a mystery.

Say hello to our little ball of cuteness! A rare southern three-banded armadillo pup was recently born to proud parents Vespa & Scooter. At just two months old, this tiny newcomer marks only the second healthy armadillo pup born at the Zoo in our 121-year history, making this arrival extra special!
