Again, we refer people back to Me Too. It was possible - actually quite easy - to get a very rich powerful man locked up with the proverbial key thrown away. That's *exactly why* the story suddenly turned into "this has gone too far", and all guns turned outwards.
The power these men hold is thin. And it gets thinner whenever we are willing to stand with survivors against the powerful. When we are willing to stop being complicit with power, or fearful of the threats spread out in every direction by abusers that they'll hurt anyone who exposes them.

If only there were some simple way to kill the bacteria so the milk would be safe to drink. If some genius were to invent such a process, we could even name it after him.
This is bonkers. MAHA 'farmers' with ecoli tainted raw milk admit they really don't know how to make the stuff after all.

"Producing raw milk takes careful planning from a facility and infrastructure standpoint. Unfortunately, we learned this after the fact."

Once again for those in the cheap seats: "Criminality" is a status defined entirely by the state. There is no way for any individual to avoid becoming a "criminal" if the state decides to declare them one.
I will say gently: every famous counter sit-in from the Civil Rights era was a crime.

Nonviolent civil disobedience is quite literally and explicitly a strategy where you commit crimes.
I'm sorry, I'm lol'ing hard at "crime he disapproves of." As if some crimes are perfectly fine and okay.

Yeah, go ahead and set the city on fire. Just like Trump and Steven Miller want to see happen. Play right into their hands!

This is so stupid.

Is tteokbokki the perfect comfort food? I think so! And I've been busy learning how to make garae-tteok and eomuk so that I could make it from scratch. Check out my new article all about this iconic Korean dish.

But I think a lot of Gen X hasn't grown past that 80s/90s cynical slackerism and that creates the perfect Petri dish for nihilistic, "I've got mine, fuck the rest" politics.

I feel like someone’s gotta say something, so I guess it’s going to be me. I’m 100% certain that I either know, have met, or have sought meetings with people who have done horrible things in their lives, too. How about y’all? Association is not causation, and it's not guilt — of anything. (1/8)

I am not a gamer at all but for this cast? I'd be all fucking in. #billmurray4eva
This cast is ridiculous - Alyssa Milano playing the Sigourney Weaver role; Max von Sydow returning for a few funny lines as Vigo.

The funny thing about a certain type of angry conspiracy guy is that they’re literally being confronted with an elite paedophile ring and a tyrannical government at the same time right now, and because it isn't being done by the people they wanted it to be done by they’re all being pussies about it

skaters will not have this problem should they choose to skate with the universally beloved music of the Mountain Goats
I’m getting word that there are skaters having to fight music rights battles right now just days before the Olympics. We know Lauriault/le Gac has already made the decision to change their RD. Don’t be surprised if we get some other program changes in Milan

Lately, I've been researching the life of Barbara Fea who was born in Stronsay some time* in the late 17th century.

Her story is one of power, legal process and, sadly, awful violence. Throughout this, she endures. I want to tell her tale.

* We'll return to her age in a bit because it's important.

If I had a nickel for every time today David Brooks further reduced the cultural value of something I already had little respect for, I'd have two nickels, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Yale is launching a new Presidential Senior Fellowship to expand access to the transformative work of universities. As part of this program, author and columnist David Brooks will join the Jackson School of Global Affairs starting February 1.

We’re excited to announce that David Brooks is joining The Atlantic as a staff writer. The Atlantic will be the home for all of his writing, and he will also host a new weekly video podcast that will launch later this spring. www.theatlantic.com/press-releas...
