The more of these fascist atrocities I see, the more I become an immigration maximalist. Let everyone in, give everyone work permits/green cards. Make it possible to get citizenship within a few months. Make it as easy as getting a driver's license.

The potential of lab grown meat to reduce the harmful environment, labor, and animal welfare impacts of the meat industry are incredible to think about. Much better than AI which is already polluting the air people breathe and eliminating jobs for no good reason

A technology I’m really excited about is lab grown meat, and the right is actually using its state power to prevent this technology from coming to fruition, but there has been far less hand-wringing about that than the organic consumer rejection of AI

It's bad to embrace technological developments when we're sick sad trans people, but good when we're following billionaire business interests.
I can’t believe you lefty Luddites hate tech so much that you embrace mRNA vaccines, heat pumps, electric bikes, hybrid work, renewable power (and awesome advancements in storage), space telescopes, and hot/cold running water but reject the planet destroying plagiarism enrich the worst people bots!

one reset I'd personally appreciate: behind the insistence that we must offer the electorate a little bigotry is the idea that commoners are more bigoted than the richer and more educated, who can be appealed to with high minded policy. but then you Ctrl+F "phrenology" in the Epstein files

Worth noting that this risk of outing was one of the features that won Goodwin v UK in the European court of human rights. It's treatment institutionally that can cause outing that resulted in the UK losing against Christine Goodwin and being forced to implement the gender recognition act.

This is what ICE does every day. Hunt little kids who are here legally. They get sent to a place called the “baby jail” in Texas. Very little of it ends up on video like this. But it’s routine. And disgusting.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

Much as I loved Planescape, genuinely think Torment: Tides of Numenera is the greater game, and its greater understanding and exploration of gender and sexuality is a huge part of that

ICE using the same ruse that Ted Bundy used to kidnap people should tell you something.
CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.
