And honestly, fretting that you're not feminine enough is one of the fundamental experiences of cis womanhood anyway. Femininity is actually a horrible rat race where your prize is being objectified. You'll be fine if you just fake it til you make it with sufficient gusto.

Did you all have a cool Thought Bubble? What small press comics gems did you pick up?

Um. On this. My first partner (we’re still friendly, keep in occasional touch, broke up over 15 years ago) finally got gender affirming care recently. We knew gender was A Thing back then.

She is, from what she has told me, so much fucking happier and more herself now. I’m so happy for her too.
"i want to transition, but i'm worried i'm not feminine enough"

fool that you are, you have internalised liberal ontology and all the hierarchical assumptions it entails. you have forgotten that the only difference between wanting to be something and being it is doing it.

Hahaha! Er. Someone has used AI to make analogue clocks with the live time.

Analogue clocks are really hard.

AI: spectacularly confident. Can be both subtly and spectacularly wrong. This is a lovely illustration of that.

Bumping this for the folks who missed it.

I had the great pleasure of speaking with @monagle.bsky.social and @donatobomb.bsky.social about horror films, tabletop games, horror in tabletop, and the under-seen Canadian horror film Black Mountain Side (2014).

Give Certified Forgotten a listen!

Sudden drag act thought.

Kali Minogue. Is this anything? Is it already a thing? It sort of feels like it should be a thing.

I don’t really like showcasing AI. Ironic usage is still usage. The clocks this one is putting out though are just so spectacularly fucked.

And people think these things are going to save the world. My god. Come onnnnn.

A mid con party peeve: I didn’t get to inflict dannii minogue on people.

She was absolutely coming for her sister’s throat with this one. We don’t talk about it enough.

About this, there *were* attempts to pick reviewers and one person refused to show his work to a young woman when he got to the front of the queue. This kind of thing is actually not uncommon and is kind of insulting to the reviewer. We were imho far, far too nice to this guy. Don't be that person.
One thing I was very sure of, and I'm now more sure of, we made a lot of effort to keep the timetable of who was reviewing when secret, because some people (always men) like to pick favourites, and that is neither necessary or good organisationally. Seeing people you don't know is good!
Also fun.

Oh hey. I guess I can share this bit of concept art I was sitting on until the medieval adaptation panel was over yesterday (thanks to everyone who came along!)

I’m currently neck deep in an old French werewolf story and my sketchbook is filling up with stuff like this.

For the curious and the medievally interested - I’m adapting Bisclavret by Marie de France. Really enjoying the Lais as a body of work, but this one has so much going on with it.

Anyway. Hoping to have the zine out earlyish next year.

I’ve been asked a few times about when this might be dropping.

Maaarrrch??? Ish? No promises but: earlyish 2026 for the self published zine I think.
