Married 31 years. We have 3 cherished Italian Greyhounds. 1 east tn mountain Boy... one carpetbagging yankee. from NY..
I said nothing about giving in. This reminds me of the late 80s and early 90s when we had no support but our own community. That’s how this feels all over again.

we've only been able to get ours to the Florida Keys... in August. They do not like wind in their ears.. nor do they like wet feet!

Yes. We are still invited to several on our street every year. even though … after all these years … we are known for keeping to ourselves. We are not really the “token gay couple” type.

Another weekends plan scrapped by the Iggies. Not headed to the mountain cabin due to 8 inches of snowfall expected up there. Not much , but we’re expecting 3 inches here in Buckhead and that is already too much for them. Our kiddos do not like the snow!!!

Thanks. It was particularly difficult because she had dementia and sundowners syndrome. Which made her say some pointedly very hurtful things.

Waking up to so many DMs over a caption with pic of 2 of our dogs. Long story short people. Depression after the death of my mother after decades of separation has been unbearable for me and got very dark. I am making progress. Yes being gay was part of it. The dogs & hubby were a reason to live.

Laci is going to be 19 in September. We’ve had her with us from 6 months on. That day will be what breaks my heart physically in two. Will likely be as bad if not worse than the grief when my mom passed last August. But. I have learned grief has proven I still feel. That I still love.

I post two pics of my dogs and 50 people block me. The assumption of context. Why there is so much crap flying in our faces. I am honestly not bothered. It only confirms what I suspect about most people and why our 3 Italian Greyhounds will always prioritize everything that happens around us.
