One of my favorite things about NYC is that the entire fleet of NYC ferries was named by 2nd graders. I think about this every time my run takes me past the docks.

Anyway, there are people who went to work this morning aboard The Tooth Ferry and the Ocean Queen Rockstar.

I think it's the "saving up for braces" part of this story that adds a whole new level of ick. Like... that's a kid, man
The 17 year old who had sex for money with Trump’s first nominee for Attorney General was in and out of a homeless shelter, working at McDonalds. and trying to save up for braces. (Gift link).

Jeffrey Epstein was picking out Trump term 1's cabinet secretaries. I repeat, Jeffrey Epstein was picking out the President of the United States' fucking cabinet.
well that's odd, because in late december 2018 epstein tells larry summers he's in palm beach, summers asks if he's going to mar-a-lago, then christmas morning epstein tells summers he's "being asked for 3 names to replace mnuchin"

It’s cool how government agencies can just destroy evidence with zero consequences these days
An interesting tidbit in the joint status report filed in the Broadview ICE facility case today:

ICE says video from inside the facility "between October 19, 2025, and October 31, 2025, has been irretrievably destroyed" and can't be produced in discovery.

“the publisher of the biggest newspaper is part of the child rape ring” is something that sounds crazy but so is “the president was one of the ringleaders of the child rape ring”
I've already said I think Landon should have been fired. But the idea that the NYT knew he was too chummy with Epstein and asked him for money and were fine with it is just wrong and dumb. And i cannot fathom what possible incentives people arguing this think the NYT would have to protect Epstein

i’ve said this before and i remain convinced it’s true, the 2028 platform that would deliver obama 08 results is “i am gonna
bring the hammer down on the corrupt self-dealing politicians and their rich friends and there are no sacred cows id give a pass”

The strike is not about whether or not you approve of Starbucks coffee. It's about the workers, who like all workers deserve equitable treatment and fair pay. That is the issue. Why bring up your personal feelings about the coffee? Nobody in this conversation cares. Start another thread about it.

The "revolt of the bosses" I think best describes how Trump was able to get two terms and can count on the support of the very wealthy and politically well connected to squash any bad story.

Will that be enough for the Epstein files? Only time will tell.
Yes, rich people get, or can afford, or both, preferential treatment. No big surprise. But it’s a genuine new development that all of the intersecting systems of wealth and power have decided to go all in on this specific guy.

Since this administration loves to charge people with making false statements (see, e.g., Comey, James), I assume they will be charging Maxwell for lying to Blanche and the FBI agents who interviewed her, right?
Ghislaine Maxwell lied about Trump never going to Epstein's house (directly contradicted by her email correspondence with Epstein), and she was rewarded for that lie with a transfer to a cushier prison. The coverup is happening in plain sight.
