Enjoying the book Man on the Run about the life of post-Beatles Paul McCartney and Wings. They were doing a big TV variety show in the US and apparently Paul had to be talked out of doing a drag act as Diana Ross

Can't wait for the loosened up, non-perfect, but quickly shipped AI-enhanced updates to hit my banking and insurance services next year.

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.

I mean OK but all the examples you give are for founders using AI agents for building SAAS apps that are going to be replaced by AI so...

Incredible how much the whole #indiedev and #saas thing has just curled up and died...everything is either "here's a wafer-thin wrapper around some AI service" or "here's my paid newsletter on building your SAAS app". A completely dead scene.

There's an old John Cutler tweet about how to stop doing the stupid things execs like, you still need to be doing the stupid thing bc it's a necessity for credibility. You just also have to do the right thing on top.

But working to the KPI makes it hard to point out that the KPI is bullshit.

What are you even talking about! I am saying it is a delusional fantasy to suggest Russia is going to invade European countries like Poland, Germany or indeed the UK, which is the insane drivel currently being promoted in support of a disastrous arms race.

👋 I'm looking for a full-time software/DX engineer role.

With 3 years of experience as an open-source maintainer, I am a great fit if your team needs an expert in Astro/Starlight, tooling, documentation, accessibility, i18n, and empowering OSS communities.

RTs appreciated! ♻️

A chance to hire an Astro core maintainer! Yan would be an incredible hire for anyone who needs an Astro expert, or someone with experience leading a very active OSS community. He'll also track down every tiny error in grammar or punctuation in your docs. Those misused commas don't stand a chance.

It's long been true that startup code is written by the cheapest, most incompetent coders you can find, because they will work for experience/peanuts/"equity".

You then hire competent coders not to tidy up the mess but to build features on top of the mess.

AI will ABSOLUTELY make this worse.

I took a look at Liz Truss's website for The Leconfield, her new Mayfair club asking for £500,000 from members to build it, and ran the images through the AI detection software Detesia, here's the results.

Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.
