Well I certainly didn’t have a remake of Vera Chytilova’s “Daisies” on my bingo card…

Really liked the dynamic between Lyonne and Patti Harrison in season 2 as well. Ffs.

For years I wanted a Columbo reboot with Natasha Lyonne as lead and we pretty much got that, so doing it without her is…… nope.

(I know she’s been a bit dodgy on things recently though)

seriously it's one of the most striking things to me about being middle-aged is just how young ppl in their 20s and early 30s look.

like i'll watch an old tv show that i watched as a kid and all the characters look like babies now. 😭
the thing that always baffles me about when ppl start quibbling over age-of-consent or whatever is that as a 41 year old most 25 year old's look like teenagers to me. so even that seems gross.

i don't understand why anyone in middle-age would think 'sure they are 18 so its fine' let alone 15. 🤷‍♀️
15-year-olds aren’t “barely legal.” There is no such thing as “underage women” they’re fucking CHILDREN.

🚨 BREAKING: Starmer to say "six seven" in front of downing street

It is deeply insulting to Brianna Ghey's memory to pretend that a campaign backed by the likes of Rosie Duffield is doing anything to help children like her.

We've seen her reaction to a trans person discussing their suicidal ideation.
When Rosie Duffield is in on it I think we can safely say the anti-phone campaign in Brianna's name is actively at odds with tackling transphobia

More than anything Dunt wanted a tangible, undeniable, Starmer win to show everyone he was right all along. Even now as the country plunges further into the shit, Ian’s more upset that him and his clever mates have had their pants pulled down in front of everyone.

Against my better judgement, I read Dunt’s latest article.

This paragraph gives the whole game away, Dunt’s angry Starmer made him look like a right mug instead of the cleverest most special boy. Turns out the shitposting oiks were correct all along, the emperor was naked all along.

James Bond discourse reminds me that an ex's nan sat in solemn silence through the whole of Austin Powers, then said "Well I don't see how he gets all those women"

the BBC is going to get worse before it gets worse
I don’t want to get into all the BBC issues but I feel like if you can describe trans people as fascist whilst working as a BBC presenter with no issues then by definition trans people do not have power over you.

This is absolutely fantastic.
When I was on @looksunfamiliar.bsky.social I chose this sequence from a 1979 Sesame Street episode - probably the first time I ever heard Philip Glass was this exclusive piece he wrote for this animated sequence, Geometry of Circles. It's never appeared anywhere else.

I like how on Mastermind they’ve stopped hiding their contempt for people who clearly pick rubbish/easy subjects by putting them on seat number 4 every week now. Amazing.

Last post reminded me of a couple of years ago being sat in a bar in Broadstairs and having the jumpscare of seeing said TERF columnist suddenly emerge from one of the flats across the road (I assume she lived there).

Whenever a certain TERF columnist pops up I recall hearing of a Christmas she spent with her daughters *begging* her to stop discussing trans people and speculating about a trans journalist’s medical history. A complete loser with no life!!!

Worth reading as a brief summary but it’s also impossible to see how such a thing could ever happen unless all the refs are bent, and more or everyone paid to explain politics to the public was actively and deliberately lying about what was going on www.newstatesman.com/politics/202...

Happy birthday to Sesame Street, which began exactly 56 years ago on the NET network. Possibly the most important programme ever created by American television.

Such trippy pre-titles. It really is a product of the late sixties.
