The Fourth Estate should not be the Fifth Column. Some analysis on @bylinetimes.bsky.social

Compare the fates of Rebecca Long-Bailey & Louise Haigh—sidelined for tweeting & misreporting a stolen phone respectively—& The Lord Mandelson, who remains a peer of the realm despite lobbying the govt to change policy for the paedophile Jeffery Epstein.

Is there something a bit two tier, here?

After all the embarrassment that Petey has caused the historically unpopular Sir Keir, you'd have thought jettisoning the best pal of the world's most notorious sex offender would be a no-brainer.

Unless he was nicknamed "The Prince of Darkness" & had weapon's grade dirt that could bury everyone.
Moments after he admits Lord Mandelson kept things from the govt prior to being appointed ambassador the US, Steve Reed is asked if Mandelson should be allowed to keep his peerage.

Reed invokes the victims to dodge answering the question.

History graduate in tech ministry!? Typical. Tories did the same thing.

"AI" is nothing but a cover for a vast surveillance apparatus.
Yes there are good, sane applications. That's NOT what the data centres are for.
The wheel spins as it should.

See, I think these people genuinely don't understand the industry they are working in.

Correction: deleted satire post about Musk in the Epstein files—thanks to @ampallanguk.bsky.social. This one is legit.

Seems like another illegal war of aggression might be necessary—like, this weekend.

As I've said before, a single-setting automaton of genuflection, a bottomless abyssal of amorality, a man whose burning personal ambition is only outshone by his white-hot nothingness.

Reform UK already espouse the use of private vigilantes "to protect women", and direct political control of the police.

I'm sure the creation of a paramilitary force like ICE in Britain—a country with no guard rails to stop govt overreach—will be another positive development for our democracy.

This is easy.

Extremism = clicks & eyes on content in the engagement economy

Peter misunderstands who Question Time is for & who is it adjacent to.

It created the media persona of Farage & platforms extremists like Melanie Phillips. It is video rightism. It sits alongside Piers Morgan on YouTube

Thing is, Shirmo, he spends an awful lot of time abroad for a prisoner. Also, whose softball treatment and lack of analysis put him in Downing Street to start with?

1) The 2nd Trump presidency is a laboratory for how despotic you can be in a democracy & get away with it

2) Reform UK = Carbon-copy Trumpism + a British accent

3) Is it not conceivable that we see events like this in the UK? Painting a target on a rival's back & then laughing off the violence?

LOL, she's pissed off that Labour are set to lose their century-long foothold in the place the party was born, and this just makes it funnier.
Wales' first minister Eluned Morgan refuses to support Sir Keir Starmer
Eluned Morgan repeatedly refused to say if the prime minister is good at his job in a BBC interview.

Nice to see John-Boy here catching up with the rest of everyone else living in Britain, and then bitch-slapping all his good work in the kisser with the last four words. Sensational.

What is *absolutely ridiculous* is that you, a well-remunerated professional opiner, a mainstay of the British pundit class for decades, are a credulous dolt who lazily—yet somehow slavishly—regurgitates WhatsApp messages you receive as news. You are a gossip tweeter. You are fucking TMZ for SpAds.

Seems to have slipped under the radar with the Andy Burnham stitch-up & paramilitary executions in the US, but authoritarianism in the UK just took a massive leap forward, with police forces falling under direct political control.

Worth noting that this is Labour implementing Reform UK policy.

Everything is America latest
The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Every time you see Suella Braverman, you instantly remember how false & insincere she is—just a speech & drama kid whose only conviction is that she's got to be the star of the show.

If it suited her career, she'd be the embodiment of one-nation Toryism, but that race is run, so it's fascism now.
January 26, 2026 at 5:33 PM
Labour have taken the most underhand tack possible in this Gorton by-election—barring the candidate who would've won because he's a threat to Starmer + now limiting campaign time to a month to stop the Greens building up a head of steam.

This party needs to be razed to the ground & the earth salted

Genuinely the least surprising defection of all.

Most people I know already thought this amateur dramatics, cosplaying harpie was already in Reform UK.
