Mobility lanes move more than just people on bikes and they often create much needed space that our minimal sidewalks lack.

London's cycleway #C3 #CS3 counter ran for 286 days this year, and recorded a total of 2,528,907 cycle journeys (Jan-start of Jul, late Sept-Dec).

A full 365 day run-rate would have been 3,227,000, getting us well past an annual #3million for the first time.

Happy 2026!

*** Council decision ***

#Havering council has approved a plan to widen the shared-use path which runs through Painesbrook Park.

This is great news and make this section NCN136 more accessible, especially as it's a great way to miss some busy roads.

Cardiff is the first UK city to approve higher parking charges for larger, more-polluting vehicles like SUVs.

SUVs make up over 60% of new cars sold in the UK, but are 14% more likely to kill a pedestrian or cyclist and 77% more likely to kill a child.

So you are starting a family and settling down. Would you move to an area with 20mph limits that gave your children safer streets, lower noise and opportunities to walk or cycle to school, or demand that you drive at speeds that are not survivable for vulnerable road users.
