We are lucky enough to still have 3 bike shops left in Havering so this is just a reminder that if we want our precious local bike shops to be there when we need them, we have to use them.

We’ve been asked by people if mobility scooters in bike lanes are legal.

Here is the guidance:

So "cycle lanes" which are painted onto the road and which offer no real protection to anybody are NOT open to mobility scooters but any segregated "cycle tracks" ARE.

National Highways have replied to our concerns about the closure of the safe cycle path to the Dartford Crossing access point by referring us to the Thurrock Council online cycle map.
This puts cyclists onto very busy roads where most of the traffic is HGVs.
Not good enough!

We are very pleased to see plans being brought forward to address the danger to cyclists on Marsh Way that sadly took the lives of two cyclists back in 2021.
