“I don’t understand why anybody, liberal or conservative, would be OK with ripping out almost new infrastructure,” Anoka Mayor Erik Skogquist said. “Sports stadiums last longer than this is lasting.”

With Northstar rail on fast track to closure, one city tries to pull the brakes
Anoka is worried about losing the train station as the northern suburb works to redevelop the area around it.

I dream that one day drivers will have the same patience for me crossing the street that they do waiting for a parking spot 10 feet closer to the mall entrance.

Another example: obvious outcome of allowing parking in bus lanes
City bus had to leave new three-block-long dedicated bus lane because someone parked in it a half hour before that's allowed

the war on cars is the most important war of our lives
We don't talk eough about how car dealers are one of the biggest bastions of conservatism in the United States.
With a car dealer father and he grew up in a fucking mansion. Fuck that dude generally and in particular.

I'm not sure people are aware of just how often someone will yell at me on my bike for seemingly the mere sake of existing. I take so much psychic damage from it and it's directly why bits like the St Paul Saints' "bikes shouldn't be on the road" hot takes get my blood boiling
… rolled down his window and screamed “FUCK YOUUUU!” at me as he proceeded straight through the intersection.

The worst UI change for Windows 11 is that opening its namesake Window (file explorer) often crashes the operating system. The second worst is that Ctrl+p then Enter doesn't print anymore and instead asks you to change the printer from the default

Sometimes in the world of transportation you'll hear arguments against bike lanes because they don't align with the "user-pay, user-benefit" theory but there are many times where everyone can benefit

Transportation is not a zero-sum game

Separated bike lanes do benefit bikes, but not only bikes

Saw the improved bike path on Minnesota in downtown Saint Paul yesterday, it's so nice! Im glad they are adding infrastructure to make downtown safer and more pleasant for me to visit and for my retired mom to get her steps in from her condo.

At the Saints game and they are advertising anti-Summit-bike-lane, pro-car messages on the jumbotron. Very disappointed, and t was all brought to you by Busch Light, because nothing goes together better than crushing beers and driving

The eye exam is the perfect game design. That big E is a great tutorial that teaches you the basic mechanic. But it doesn't baby you and quickly gets hard as they introduce the small and blurry enemies.

Still close to the 3, so I support this site over the farmer's market. Transit options still much diminished over the Target Center
To give you a sense of how big the Strib’s possible redevelopment site is, it’s in yellow and the whole North Loop is in red. You could build a basketball arena there!

Best I can tell the county found a way to eliminate the bike path, while preserving their ability to say they haven't eliminated the bike path. Bizarre outcome.
The final concept design for Lyndale Ave is out and friends, it's really bad. They have a SHARED USE PATH on the east side of the street.

You don't put shared use paths in busy commercial areas, especially when this is in one of the densest neighborhoods in the entire state!
