We are a social species, and we have always prevailed through cooperation. Caring for our sick. Raising children we didn't sire or birth because they were part of our village or extended family. We are not breeders and predators, we are communicators and survivors. We evolved to UNITE.

If you know a thing or two about the makeup of Spokane, you’ll know that we are a city PLAGUED with surface parking. This would be a huge and highly needed source of income for our city.
An upcoming ordinance, if passed by city council, would tax surface and garage parking lots. Funds would go to transportation projects like street and sidewalk maintenance. The ordinance is scheduled for a final council reading on Nov. 17. Read more here:
Spokane City Council considers taxing commercial parking lots – RANGE Media
The tax would add about $0.50 to a $3.85 parking fee and fund street repair. But it’s not just about revenue, it’s about increasing vibrancy downtown.

Honestly “Republicans are shutting down the government to hide the Epstein files” is pretty good messaging.
Raskin: "It's not lost on anyone that shutting the government down allows them not swear in our new colleague, Ms Grijalva from Arizona, who would be the 218th signature to discharge the Epstein files and to put a vote on that on the House floor."

They're openly saying they want to sacrifice LGBTQ people and the planet to appease fascists. This is not only a losing strategy, this is morally repugnant.

Every single one of these people should be ashamed, but we know they won't because they are amoral sociopaths.

Did you know that when a redwood dies and falls in the forest it can take over 500 years for the log to rot? For perspective, that is twice as long as the United States has been a country. There are rotting logs on forest floors that are older than our government.

the thing everyone is going to have to accept is that the post-trump period, whenever it comes, will not and cannot be a project of national unity, it must be a project of partisan project of renewal, in the same way that reconstruction and the new deal were partisan projects of renewal.
