I mean my lava take is WNBA teams should be forced to redshirt all rookies, paying them, allowing them to practice but not play, while they rest and learn after a tough college season, in exchange for an extra year on an ELC. Allow the rooks to come in fresh instead of burnt out from college

Love this idea! Also builds up interest in watching the college game to follow the players.
Lava take but the WNBA draft should go NHL mode. Age 19 or 20 for draft year and you can leave players stashed in college.
The housing thing is minor - certainly with enough salary boosts players can say “fine we can find our own housing like in other leagues”. The schedule thing tho is a non starter -starting during the college season will f up rookies, who already have it bad, and is obv aimed at other leagues
