This morning, Trump has already called for the imprisonment and execution of Democratic members of Congress called on the military to follow the constitution.

In a democracy, the legislature would remove him from office immediately.

one thing about this is that in the wake of all of this kirk is basically forgotten. he was barely cold in the ground before his allies — before his *wife* — started scheming over what they could take for themselves. a real life parable.
New: Reuters has tallied job losses, suspensions and investigations stemming from the reaction to Charlie Kirk's Sept. 10 assassination. Its findings: More than 600 Americans have been punished, and the figure is likely to be an under-count.

one thing i think is true is that republicans assumed that democrats would not respond in kind and that the forceful pushback spooked them (a lesson to learn here, perhaps)
Trump's corrupt scheme to rig 2026 is suddenly falling apart:

*Court strikes down Texas GOP gerrymander
*Indiana GOP lacks votes to redraw map
*Big Dem win in Virginia could give Ds more seats

On the pod, DLCC head Heather Williams is informative on what's next:

Trump, Kristi Noem and ICE lost

Not only did Greg Bovino and his agents leave the city in disgrace

A judge ruled that they must release as many as 615 unjustly detained immigrants

Plus-they must stop pressuring immigrants to voluntarily leave

A point of this reporting is to underscore how not just wildly scandalous Trump’s wide ranging coverup of the Epstein files is right now, but that his coverup has hit a new level of blatant political corruption and abuse of power.

Genuinely, historically atrocious in ways too many get numb to

It’s gonna get worse when House votes on #EpsteinFiles next week.

Donald Trump’s presidency hinges on loyalty, which depends on the perception of power. As a lame duck, that perception is already eroding — and the Epstein scandal is now accelerating it.
Opinion | The Epstein divisions among Republicans are hastening Trump's lame-duck status
These polls suggest the issue is a bigger problem than the president wants to admit.

This is the inflated sale that was one of the tentacles of the suspicion over Trump's relationship with Russians, in general.

We knew in 2015 he was a money launderer for the Russian mob. There was a mountain of evidence. It just lacked a federal prosecution to tie it all up.
