A good piece about what Minnesotans are actually doing. slate.com/news-and-pol...
What Trump and ICE Are Doing in Minneapolis Is Obvious. They Don’t Seem to Grasp What’s Happening Instead.
ICE declared war on Minneapolis. The city had its own ideas.

So she had a pulse. That’s what the doctor on the scene wanted to check. She wasn’t breathing, but she had a pulse. He could have started CPR right away.

Instead ICE barred the doctor from attending her and waited 15 mins for EMT to get to her.

I'm honestly surprised it's taken so long... but I just heard about my first friend who was hurt due to federal agents driving recklessly on Minneapolis streets.

She's injured, but ok. She was on a bike and 3 agents ran a red light, causing her to crash as she tried to get across the intersection.

The people of Minneapolis are highly engaged in defending our community from the federal occupation. A meeting in the Whittier neighborhood last night required three overflow rooms, with speakers having to go room to room to make sure everyone heard them. 838 people at Whittier Elementary.

I’m seeing posts from people (outside of MN) about how US citizens should carry their passports.

And let me say that *inside* MN, we are calmly responding to requests with: “No, I don’t have to show you any documentation.”

Because that’s how you protect everyone, regardless of immigration status.

it's time for @worldbollardassoc.bsky.social to join the War on Minneapolis on the side of Minneapolis
- Use routine powers (construction, traffic calming) that are neutral but would reclaim public space for resident use/safety -- esp around children/essential services
- Require warrants for every interaction that req's city involvement
- Inspect hotels for fire code violations caused by firearms

An ode to Puerto Rico springs to life in Minnesota
A concert series in Minneapolis and St. Paul will combine oral history and live instrumentation to explore how Puerto Ricans are keeping the spirit of the island alive.

My daughter's school in Richfield, MN (adjacent to Minneapolis) is closing tomorrow due of out-of-control federal agents. Fourth graders spent the week building walls of snow at recess to protect their classmates from ICE. This isn't about immigration enforcement, it's about terror.

Another thing you should know about the Twin Cities, if you're not here, is that while the mayor and governor tell us to stay calm on TV, our council members and other local electeds are on the street patrolling and protecting neighbors, doing mutual aid, and otherwise serving the community.

I want to let you all know something important that I hope motivates you to keep showing up.

I get daily calls from neighbors who speak Spanish who want me to let you all know they are grateful for those looking out and patrolling. Our community is thankful.

Minneapolis is full of heroes.

"Slow down to fuck over ICE" is actually an anti-speeding message that may resonate with drivers
As I was being tailgated down W. River Parkway by a large SUV with tinted windows, the thought occurred to me that it might help if everyone drives a bit slower. Gives observers more time to identify feds.

We have a 20 MPH speed limit on residential streets, let’s weaponize it

I reject the notion that we should be afraid that they know us. I want everyone to know I am helping. I understand the danger. If I die, throw my body on tom emmer’s doorstep.
We saw the same thing in 2020. People get too bogged down in the trappings of security. You can't cosplay yourself to anonymity. If you are going out on the streets of Minneapolis, there is simply zero way to ensure your identity is safe from the feds.
It is, but an obsession with opsec is a real hindrance for activists. If you're out there confronting ICE, I assure you they can figure out who you are if they really wanted. The key is to not do anything illegal (taking or sharing video is not) and to understand there's safety in numbers.

Evict ICE, not us.

Allowing our neighbors to be evicted because ICE has made it impossible for them to pay rent is unacceptable. Minneapolis needs an immediate eviction moratorium to keep people in their homes.

Anything less than abolishing ICE is unacceptable. I don't want to hear people talk about training these motherfuckers or throwing more money at them. The entire institution needs to be permanently disbanded. Do not let politicians sell you on anything less.

We have heard from Minneapolis City Council staff that council members are working on this, but they will need a veto-proof majority and/or support from @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social.

Make sure your council member and the Mayor hear from you.

I wish for a world where Minneapolis does not have to repeatedly be a flashpoint for the most grotesque acts of fascist state violence. My heart breaks for the people of a city that deserves more than taxpayer-funded knees on necks and federal bullets through windshields.
