🏠 Minnesotans need more homes they can afford, and that won’t happen unless we make it easier to build them.

Let lawmakers know that we need action now. Sign the Yes to Homes petition: www.moreneighbors.org/yes-to-homes

For too long our cookies have been zoned exclusively for uniformly sized chocolate chips. We need greater diversity in our chocolate pieces!

(... and also I mean, anyone buying Pound Plus bars clearly must believe in Chocolate Abundance ...)
Pro tip: Buy the Pound Plus Chocolate Bars at Trader Joe's and cut them into chunks instead of buying chocolate chips. It offers a variety of chocolate sizes, and the little chocolate shavings elevate the cookie experience! Also, scoop the cookies before you chill them to make it easy on yourself!

🏠Minnesotans deserve housing choices that meet their needs. Whether it’s allowing young people to move back to where they grew up, or helping older adults downsize in the town they’ve lived in for decades.

Let legislators know we need more housing choices: www.moreneighbors.org/yes-to-homes

We are all neighbors here. So I feel comfortable sharing a secret. These are the best chocolate chip cookies ever:

They also compared the mid-rise single-stair building to a code-compliant low-rise single-stair building. They found slightly more risk, easily mitigated with smoke detectors in the corridor OR improved inspections. This is the finding they highlighted, and the direction they are pushing in.

Consultants contracted by Minnesota found that an eight-story single-stair building with 6,000 sq. ft. per floor (building 4) has dramatically lower fire risk than a same-height code-compliant two-stair building with a larger floor plate (building 1) www.dli.mn.gov/sites/defaul...

I've lived in two single-stair buildings and the apartments are so much nicer! Windows on three sides for light and summer breezes! Practical layouts!
In 2024 we helped to pass a legislative study to prove what we already knew.
That 75' single egress buildings are safe, and the #MNleg should legalize them.
Today that report is now live! dli.mn.gov/sites/defaul...

Single egress rules allow you to have buildings that look more like trees than warehouses
