ACTION ⬇️

We have heard from Minneapolis City Council staff that council members are working on this, but they will need a veto-proof majority and/or support from @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social.

Make sure your council member and the Mayor hear from you.

Instead of shopping there, I urge everyone to consider supporting small businesses and family-owned grocery stores in our community instead. Support small businesses who have been devastatingly impacted by immigration enforcement.

Dear neighbor,

It’s become common practice for ICE to stage its operations at the Target parking lot on East Lake Street. While immigration officials tear families apart, Target corporation is silent and makes its workers and customers feel unsafe. 1/

It's on your desk now, @governorwalz.mn.gov. Please listen to the dozens of residents who spoke today on behalf of thousands who couldn't be there. Act quickly to protect our most vulnerable Minnesotans.
Minneapolis City Council unanimously passed a resolution asking Gov. Walz to enact a statewide eviction moratorium.

The City Council is also voting on an ordinance should the Governor call a state of emergency.

A ton of Council Members were opposed to the resolution until the public showed up today and emailed in large numbers.

The fight isn’t over. Ask your electeds to vote for the ordinance and to do more.

Elected officials need to support residents, neighbors, and community in as many ways as possible right now, and that includes keeping them in their homes. That means we need an eviction moratorium immediately.

ICE just indiscriminately stopped a citizen at a bus stop in front of the co-op. If this is how they treat the President of the Minneapolis City Council who is legally observing, just think of what they’re doing to everyone else in our City.

Justice for Renee Good. It’s time to arrest, prosecute and fire the ICE agent.

We will continue to defend our immigrant neighbors. I love you Minneapolis.

We are devastated by the murder of Renee Good yesterday and the ongoing terrorization of our community by ICE and other federal law enforcement.

We are also proud and heartened by the number folks in Southwest and beyond who have already been stepping up to keep our at-risk neighbors safe.

Thank you to the SWAE members who testified today in support of the strengthened Separation Ordinance. We hope Council Members Palmisano and Koski were listening and will do the right thing for our immigrant neighbors.
