I’m at $42/$541 for my phone service and car note! I need my phone to be able to reach my elderly dad who I run errands for and talk to my disabled childs therapists almost daily. Without that support I struggle a lot. I also cannot start rent until I get these covered and rent is due in 6 days!!!

The whole "Humans are an Invasive Species" trope among well-meaning people is so damaging...the inability to separate the word "Humans" from "Western Capitalist Civilization" is the single biggest issue I face when teaching Intro. Go talk to one Indigenous person. Or just someone without a LinkedIn.

A fascinating thought for writers: How your cultures ornament and augment their environment says a lot about where their culture places their idea of value. Societies that cover things in complex, intricate motifs are telling you that *labor* is the greatest form of wealth, rather than materials.

Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.
