we can treat it like the Olympics and build multiple giant venues to host the events
Good news! I did some research and there's a Nuremberg in Pennsylvania. It's kind of small, but I bet we can make it work.

Most families have no idea their child can develop Long COVID. They aren’t hearing it from pediatricians, schools, or public health agencies. Parents can’t advocate for their children if they don’t know there’s something to advocate for. #PediatricLongCOVID

"literally the entire planet's electricity grid is going to convert to solar+battery"

I mean this constructively but I do not think this is a good way of understanding clean tech, because the messier but load-bearing stuff like wind, hydro, grids, demand reduction etc are being forgotten
The left tried for decades to pass green energy subsidies, passed them, the subsidies worked, and now literally the entire planet's electricity grid is going to convert to solar+battery. It just doesn't feel like "tech" because it mostly produces kinda boring blue collar jobs instead of billionaires
is there a technology that "the left" is excited about?

Truly innovative tech is not very exciting and it doesn’t have to try so hard and so humiliatingly to sell itself to you.

Sewers were life changing. Nobody had to spend a billion dollars on ads like “Did you ever wonder if sewers could…” or “Let us help you imagine how to use sewers.”

Does your Google Calendar read through your work and home emails, looking for high priority items? Does it collate across a half dozen work / home calendars ? Does it also check your issue tracking system at work ? Does it check your slack for pressing items? My AI agent does all of that at 8AM

People always ask, "What would you do if you were born in another time period?"

With my health the answer is almost always, "Die before kindergarten."

Medical progress is the real deal, buddies.
before antibiotics did people just die all the time from everything?

The ever increasing tension between what we know is happening and the facade we are being forced to prop up is going to have very severe psychological consequences on everyone at a pretty high rate. The dissonance is crushing and intentionally so. This is the true banality of fascism
it is weird to see so much reporting about newborn babies in concentration camps in between updates about the Olympics

And where was Free Speech Warrior™️ and CBS News Chief Bari Weiss through all this? Oh right, helping suppress the speech ‘cause it’s Democratic.

Somebody ask her fellow Harper’s Letter signatories about this!

Inflation is better except:

“The 12-month inflation rates for some important categories are 2.9% for food; 6.3% of electricity; 9.8% for piped gas service; 3.0% for shelter (including rental and homeownership); and 3.9% for medical care.”

Other problems affect the accuracy of the report, raising questions of what the official story should be, and whether that matters if millions can’t afford the basics.
