This is the second account - the first being in Chicago - of DHS agents mass detaining people and then *sorting them by race*.
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...

About 400 people, including children and U.S. citizens, were detained for four hours while they were denied food and water in the raid, according to the lawsuit.

oh so just dumb luck these idiots didn’t shoot down a passenger aircraft
According to multiple NYT sources, it wasn’t even military personnel at Fort Bliss that fired an anti-drone laser at alleged cartel drones. It was CBP who used the weapon on loan from DoD against a child’s party balloon they mistook for a drone. The Pentagon gave CBP an anti-aircraft weapon.

What this man is describing would seem to constitute crimes against humanity under international law. Other governments could and should contest the abuses he’s describing the U.S. government committing against migrants.
“It’s just a horrible, horrible, horrible place,” he said of his detention camp. “I’m not in fear of the other inmates. I’m afraid of the staff. They’re capable of anything.”

“Four of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. “I looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.

Mainers, be warned: Susan Collins lied. ICE is still here, and still abducting people, including (reportedly) a child today in Brunswick, and ~17 people, an entire bus full of workers, in Skowhegan.

Non-Mainers: don't forget us, and don't forget Minnesota — nothing has changed.

This is the 38th time that the U.S. military has unlawfully killed civilians on the orders of Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump. At least 130 people — never charged with crimes, their identities unknown to their executioners — are now dead.

Gravity is powerful:

"What has changed is not Trump’s racism (which is the same as it ever was) but Trump’s poll numbers (which have dropped precipitously)"
"Republicans are looking for ways to distance themselves from Trump as the midterms approach. That’s a dynamic which Democrats, and all Trump opponents, can exploit — not least because Trump, as he has made clear, is not going to stop being racist."
The blowback to Trump's racist video reveals his weakness
Even his allies don't want to be anywhere near him.

The conservative former Dem member of congress who led the Dem's House election effort in 2020 when we lost 13 seats has some new funder-friendly ideas about how to win.
Ezra Klein's Abundance movement is getting some backup: A new political group is urging Democrats to embrace "pro-growth," deregulatory policies with an eye toward 2028, according to plans first shared with Axios.
Exclusive: Centrist Dems strike back with new group
It's the latest effort by moderate Democrats to shape national politics and expand their influence.

These are the kinds of cases Tom Homan means when he says they’re prioritizing targeting people with “criminal records”
*Green card application in process and work permit, married to US citizen
*Lived in US for 20 years, no criminal record
*In detention for five months with no charge, despite judge approving release
*He disputes ICE claim that he signed forms agreeing to deportation

Despite ICE promises to pursue 'the worst of the worst', 87% of the folks grabbed up during the Maine surge have no known criminal record.

But instead of hauling Kristi Noem in front of her committee -- or holding hearings at all -- Susan Collins wants to give the paramilitary more $$. #MEpolitics
