Being a british citizen with an american wife is really... fun... because there's always at least one, but usually two, absolutely horrific governments making life worse for us and the people we care about...

I stepped away from Bluesky because I was sick of all the lies I saw on here.

This article is an example of that.

It’s not US style pick ups it’s UK pick ups. The narrative is misleading

Do pickups belong in a city? No, but nearly all aren’t in one.

I'm off, this place is pathetic.

Chud AI is currently leading with several laps.

The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

As we grieve for Alex Pretti and Renee Good in MN, please do not forget Victor Manuel Diaz, who died in ICE custody after being taken from here. And all others who have died in their custody.
36-year-old Nicaraguan national Victor Manuel Diaz died in ICE custody on Jan. 14 at Camp East Montana in El Paso.

The Texas Nicaraguan Community on FB reports that his mom last heard from him on Jan. 6, when he told her he was planning to go to Minneapolis to start work in a restaurant. 1/3

The difference between JD and his boss whom he attempts to emulate is that JD has to consciously formulate his lies while DJT creates his own reality on the fly spontaneously, with no more conscious effort than you or I use to breathe, or an infant uses to fill its diaper.

An insane, perfect encapsulation of it all:

The same day Trump’s agents kill a Veterans Affairs ICU nurse in broad daylight, the CEOs of Apple and Amazon join Trump to watch a private screening of a film about his wife directed by an alleged sexual abuser who was seen shirtless in the Epstein Files

This perfectly demonstrates the pernicious nature of BBC two-sidism.

It almost always benefits the side with the most power.

In this case that's the side which is murdering peaceful protesters in the street, on camera, and then lying about it
The BBC coverage is absolutely terrible.

It leads on "sharply contested narratives"

It has a dramatic skew to the US government

It has posted the video but has failed to report on what it shows: it shows the US govt account is untrue

“Immigration is a fake problem” is a drum I want to beat so loudly that it rings in the heads of politicians everywhere and gives them migraines.
Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.

Once upon a time, the "passport" was seen as a quaint relic of "backwards" empires, like the Ottomans or Tsarist Russia.

Now, you are treated like a criminal simply for moving about the earth
If you're a true "just asking questions" guy, maybe you should "just ask" why their movement is deemed illegal

Pull on that thread a little bit

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

THEY WILL NOT BREAK US

THEY CAN NOT BREAK US

THEY DIDN'T BRING ENOUGH GUYS

FOR EVERY ONE OF US THEY TAKE, ONE HUNDRED MORE TAKE TO THE STREETS

THERE WILL FOREVER BE MORE OF US THAN OF THEM

THEY STAND FOR NOTHING, WE STAND FOR EACH OTHER

THEY WILL REGRET COMING HERE

MINNEAPOLIS WILL WIN
fear.

they need to demonstrate that resistance is worse than useless, that it will be broken, and that their agents have impunity regardless of their actions.
So… what’s the strategic goal for the administration in Minnesota, exactly?

I’m not being cute, I don’t understand the theory of victory here and want someone to explain it to me.

Newsom spoke for a couple minutes saying things that resonate.

Cory Booker spoke for hours and hours saying things that resonate.

Then they went home, did fuck all, and just want to 'get back to normal'.
This clip is one of the reasons why the White House didn’t want Gov. Gavin Newsom to speak at Davos

absolutely insane to see Musk feted at Davos as the icon of a boldly "optimistic" future in 2026, as if he hadn't just spent the last year buying elections for fascists, making Nazi salutes, condemning millions in Africa to death, and building "Mechahitler," and a nonconsensual porn/CSAM generator
