Half of the MotoringPodcast, "motoring's Hinge & Bracket". Told "you don't sound thick" by Roy Lanchester. UK Car of the Year judge.

I've been remiss and not done an introductory post.

I am one half of the Motoring Podcast, a weekly motoring news show. We also have extra episodes where we go into more details.

I will shout about cars, car software/security. Like to point out falsehoods around it all, no matter who says them.

Organisation walks around with large hammer and declares it is good at hitting "nails".

And check out the stats they release. Look at the language. They are using the "tHiNk Of ThE cHiLdReN" messaging playbook.

Successive UK governments have traded (and continue to trade) on the presumption that crying "child safety" should exempt them from policy scrutiny. There's too much evidence to the contrary. It is absolutely unsafe to take the "child safety" veneer at face value.

I agree with so much of what Chris says in this. Everyone needs to watch it and consider the broader points he’s making. Especially content creators.

You know what, Nigel? Writer’s block isn’t really a thing. The real “block” is trying to survive in a capitalist system, in which creativity has been devalued & publishing taken over by managerial types who only understand productivity & see writers as “brands.” www.theguardian.com/business/202...

I really wish all those jumping for joy that Waymo is coming to the UK would look at this account, they'd think very differently and start to ask "is Waymo lying to us?" and see the truth.
Nice video & pics of at least 50 & possibly 100+ Waymo robots queued on a public street for their depot:

14th St between Folsom and as far as the camera eye can see, San Francisco

Notice they are using/roboclotting both traffic lanes of a one-way street.

Congestion as an automated service.
@caseynewton.bsky.social @kevinroose.com literally every Waymo in SF is stuck on 14th st right now
