As we simply collapse into winter I am trying to cling to the memory of how much outsidey time with how much wildlife I experienced this past summer and trying to remember that spring will come again.

I want more people to get low-monetizable degrees. I want them for free. I want to pay taxes for absolutely everybody to study gender studies and philosophy and music performance and literature and I want them to do it because it's fun and not to get a job at the end. That's my socialist agenda.

Have we tried turning the internet off and on again? Or is that what they're doing but they haven't coordinated well so the glitch persists by bouncing from one kernel to another?

It is a sin that anybody ever has to know anything about venture capital but if you're interested in context about the news of the day it's critical to understand that the CEO of a startup launching a fundraising round is not in charge of the valuation, no matter how loudly they proclaim it.

NGL I feel like with the latest round of big name abusers we are just repeating the same mistakes that unfolded with #MeToo, which is to say, we are focusing on how to punish bad individuals rather than on create systems that limit abusers’ power and make it easier for victims to escape and heal.

I am once again calling on Canada to immediately end the categorization of the US as a safe third country in asylum cases.

i think online gambling is a cancer that is spreading throughout our society, it was a horrible mistake to de-regulate it, and we desperately need to crack down on it again
i can’t talk about sports gambling anymore without sounding like a crank but i do believe legalized sports gambling is like 15-20% responsible for our current dystopia

maybe i’m naive but i think it’s kinda doomerism to always be saying this is gonna take decades to undo or you’ll be old or dead when it ends. first it doesn’t matter, plant trees you won’t live to sit in the shade of. second great change is capable of happening very quickly
