Landlords in DC have gotten away with so much & always demand more. DC Council has been chipping away at tenants rights for years & tenants have few resources to defend themselves. @cmcharlesallen.bsky.social landlords in W6 are some of the worst, evading rent control…

Same in DC. Plus we have agents from FBI, ATF, DEA and more riding along with our local police to do immigration enforcement at the traffic stops the feds tell MPD to initiate.
ICE & CBP have been out kidnapping people in Los Angeles every day since June. The media has moved on and acts like this isn’t still happening. The crises are ongoing. Solidarity with the people fighting back in Minneapolis and everywhere.

Yeah but it was well predicted in the days prior. There’s no great excuse that basically no one did anything as it was happening Sunday. But @mayorbowser.dc.gov cares less than ever not running for reelection.

Maybe if they had been working around the clock starting Saturday night until now, the roads would be clear instead of most of us having a 6-7 inch thick layer of ice on our streets that will break their plows

The president should be impeached and convicted, as should everyone responsible for these outrages. ICE should be disbanded. So should the Department of Homeland Security. And the people who have killed should be investigated and brought before judges and juries.
We have to see the logic of the killings as well as the killings themselves. The horror is a truth in itself. But it is also a sign of a political logic, one known from the totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century.

If you’re going outside to shovel, wear a mask or put a scarf over your face to warm up the air you’re breathing in.
Most areas have 3-5" of snow -- but transition to sleet has occurred inside Beltway. Expect 1-3" of sleet thru this afternoon and then maybe freezing rain.
NOW a good time to shovel snow as sleet will compact it and make it much heavier.
