Merz hat es aber, wie so oft (s. auch KAS), schlecht vorbereitet und wohl nicht verstanden, wie die EU funktioniert. Erst vollmundig fordern, Partner dadurch brüskieren, und dann? Und: gemeinsame Schulden der EU...ich dachte immer, besonders Merz sei dagegen.

Es ist eine befremdliche Mediensitte, Treffen des Europäischen Rates als Nullsummenspiele mit "Siegern" und "Verlierern" zu behandeln.

Man kann an Merz' Europapolitik einiges kritisieren. Aber nicht auf seinem Plan zu beharren, sondern das Ziel auf anderem Weg zu erreichen, spricht eher für ihn.
