While free water fountains pop up everywhere, giving the impression it's there in abundance. A scarce resource needs to have a price. And I get the whole reducing plastic/ access to water is important thing. But something's gotta give.

And there are a lot of Labour held places up for election with large numbers of such voters - London of course, and also other big cities with Labour councils - Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds. Could be big swings to Greens in many such places.

The EU makes many mistakes and should show far more flexibility towards North and West African states in trading relations.

Somewhat simplistically put: the whole presidential authority stuff after 1945 goes back to Truman's conclusion that only the President rather than the military should have the authority to launch (vs especially Nagasaki). Some great sources on this on the Nat Sec Archive website I think.

A proper analysis would investigate a. to what extent this is due to bad public transport links or b. due to pupils having to attend schools outside their catchment areas or c. due to catchment areas being badly designed in terms of accessibility by public transport.

Interesting study from researchers at UCL on how wind power has held down energy costs in the long term.

The key argument is that it has lowered gas prices in Europe by reducing demand for gas. And actually most of the savings are on gas, not electricity bills
