#place-based
To be fair, this place is crawling with fuckwits whose entire personality is based on their hatred of Starmer.

"People are losing faith in big picture politics. News and politics are dominated by problems that feel out of our control. What if we tried zooming in on smaller, local or community-based issues where real change is not just possible but already taking place?"

When politics feels broken, think smaller: the case for community action
There couldn't be a worse time to drop out of politics — here are the people choosing to zoom in instead

Oh, and while I'm thinking of that... I feel safe recommending to European-based viewers to check out Tivify, a streaming service in Spain. The NHK channel is, alas, one needing a paid subscription, but after trialing the place for a month, we went to paying per half-year.

I just had a book store open near me (within walking distance) and it might be my new favorite place. It is romantasy-themed, and that is very not in my demographic generally speaking, but it is unspeakably based if you consider we're located in a small town in Kentucky, USA

Rescue in Denmark is a fact based book regarding what took place at that time. My dad was one of the youths that helped the resistance with helping get Jews on the boats to Sweden.

Watch what they do, not what they say.

Thanks to @wavynews10.bsky.social, Rep Jen Kiggans (VA-2) was outed as a flip flop.

She seems obsessed over the working class receiving benefits she thinks they don't deserve, while rubberstamping all of Trump's wasteful spending

I might be back in — we have a link that led to a sockpuppet video. another link to that weird chiropractic place. // I’m a little surprised Freddy’s not pissed at our protagonist for not sticking to the topic. // “The Freedom Network is faith based. We believe God is the best path to sobriety.” >>

Captain Teach's Suite.

A piece for my partner, @traigh.bsky.social based on his Riverboat, Fleur de Flamme anthology/series that takes place in the Café Plaisir universe. Featuring Edward Teach, his Pangoro Captain.
He has an odd custom room design :3

None of this is new.

Heather explains...
Beginning in 1943, the War Dept published a series of pamphlets for U.S. Army personnel in the European theater of World War II. In 1945, one of them described what fascism looks like & what we need to do to combat it.

He should do hard time for assault with a deadly weapon if there was no cause.

We missed the window with George Floyd to place braindead-obvious rules on gov't use of firearms based on normal legal principles.

I'm an Internet Old™ so I grew up with and thrive more on text based platforms but I accept that's not where the majority of people are, even within my generation 😔

Wish you artists had an AO3 cuz if Tumblr of the "female presenting nipples" is the best place, then it's truly bad 😔

I miss when we had infrastructure successes that were based in America because of the Biden-Harris admin while Biden was simultaneously running circles around the KSA re oil pricing. Ya know, instead of execs saying infrastructure in a country we shouldn’t be in in the first place is uninvestable.

I occasionally toss this one out as a test to see how twitterlike this place is becoming and so far (SO FAR) no one here has tried to argue that Ghostbusters (2016) is "objectively" a failure based on box office intake.
if i was gonna do this i think the one that would get people mad at me that i actually feel is "i thought the lady ghostbusters movie was funny"
I have terrible taste and I love hurting myself

It's critical that citizens become more informed about the roles of each law enforcement department. This gives a clear breakdown of what ICE has the authority to do. And NOT do.

The question is how do we push back on a pack of lawless, armed, zealots without risking our lives?

And that look could also suit Mi Vida Loca well, but Akira is already there, so I think it might still be open in which direction she will continue to go. Besides Akira has already found her place in her unit, but I would have guessed her fitting more in God's Eye. Purely based on stereotypes.

Redid this comic depicting a moment from early in the pandemic. It's based on a real conversation we had, although the cashier might not have been this hairy, exactly!

Mostly adjusted the colors to be brighter and the background to have more depth

So based on some of the studies that take place in countries that don't let corporations kill or poison their population with bullshit in their foods, soybean oil, palm oil, and hydrogenated oils are a big no-no. I'm trying to adjust my diet accordingly, but buddy...those oils are EVERYWHERE.

Agreed, I think they are attacks on different parts of the process and boycotts (when successful) can be much more effective because of their material basis. But social norms have their place in helping us relate to each either.

In my head I was grouping them as "attacks based on ostracism"
