I think there is a simple explanation here: Notre Dame spent a couple of years being liked (or at least not disliked) by the larger CFB audience and they decided that felt weird and unpleasant

The introduction to the SS painting guide I did which contained what is apparently a trigger phrase, 'The Nazis were the bad guys,' was bait.

For instance: In Star Trek, I never really got why some characters disliked the Holodecks so much (unrelated to the whole Moriarty thing), but now I really understand that mindset of only ever seeing it as fake garbage. 2/3
