At Land Use (again) and it's literally all the same people it always is (myself included)...like who are we fooling that the same 75 people showing up every time is "the will of the people"? What a sham public process is sometimes, sadly

There were lots of jets and helicopters going over Silver Spring as well. Related to this I think:

I bike with my kids on the short bit of Sligo Ave to get between Grove and Woodbury, and it's always a little frightening. Getting some traffic calming would really help here @mcdotnow.bsky.social
Drivers routinely speed down Sligo Ave through East Silver Spring (where I live) despite the high volume of pedestrians, due to a lack of stops and traffic calming elements.

A child was recently hit at this intersection but MCDOT refuses to consider stop signs. This approach is killing pedestrians.

No Kings protests were one of the few times Trump, MAGA, and right-wing media were reacting to something the opposition did, rather than the opposition reacting to whatever they do.
Adopt a principle from war strategy: generally better to be taking action and forcing opponents to react. Good point.
Point five is really important. The protests provoked errors from the administration (shit force one) that may haunt them for years. That’s what happens when you stop being reactive.

No Kings is not the biggest US protest since Earth Day. It is the biggest US protest ever.
Earth Day rallies in big cities were 25,000 or smaller. Half the claimed participants in Earth Day were schoolchildren whose teachers taught lessons on environment.

These are the same kind of weasels who would’ve called George Washington & America’s revolutionaries “terrorists.” They spend their days sucking up to King Trump & demonizing peaceful protest just as some in America sought to appease King George III.

Looking forward to No Kings Day.
