#I-think-it-might-be-a-Thing
Some personal thoughts on 2025, letting go, finally starting to make videos and sticking as true to myself as I possibly can

Definitely -- though, reflecting more, I think one thing it makes me realise is that people who might be quieter or who I don't automatically imagine 'oh, they must be a good person'? They might have a bunch of goodness that I don't know about, which feels nice as a way of viewing things

MARCH OF THE MACHINE

The absolute NADIR of Magic story. I'd rather Test of Metal be canon. Genuinely, Forsaken might have been better. But there's a cool thing some of the art does with hidden Φ signs in the art. A good visual motif. Pity about the rest of the set.

www.theguardian.com/media/articl... bout of insomnia follow up; like any sane person I gave up listening to Today years ago, but this was always a mildly nuts thing to include in the news summaries when you think about it “here is what horses someone unnamed thinks might be worth a punt on”
BBC Radio 4 scraps daily horse-racing tips from Today programme
Racing Post describes shake-up as ‘significant blow’ to profile of sport as it struggles to stay relevant

So….apparently just honey in hot water is a thing some people do? (I’m just reading about it)

And one year I got a honey variety sampler thing from Trader Joe’s I think? The different varieties *really* do taste so unique

Might be something fun to play with, if it’s not dangerous for you

(I do think it might just be a normal insomnia thing. I usually don't deal with it much these days, but I do have a history of it. And after sitting upright in the dark for a few minutes I'm starting to feel more tired so. Probably a coincidence.)

I don’t think having so many ideas is necessarily a good thing. It makes life very complicated. This thread just made me think that the appeal of LLMs might be “I could have ideas!” And then suddenly you think you invented time travel and start emailing physics professors.

could be, i think it can be a predisposed thing. bad posture also makes it worse but thats probably obvious, i know they make some kinda lower back chair cushions which might help?

The funniest thing about this is I don’t know what story is quoted here. I think it might be a @sciencenews.bsky.social piece but i could not identify it in my clips/their archive.
Shout-out to @alexwitze.bsky.social for being included in @merriam-webster.com's definition for "heliophysics" (which has long been a word, but is now a *recognised* word)

This might be an unquantifiable question but do yall feel like my art is consistent in terms of style? Like I feel how I draw faces and how I render can very piece to piece and while I don’t think it’s a “bad” thing I also don’t know how it is to others

I just found the full version of this kind of sentiment I wrote in a "stuff I'd talk to a therapist about...if I had one" google doc I had in 2023. I think this is worded better

They are rarely wrong. Brace yourselves. Just about every psychic/medium says the same thing. 2026 will change human consciousness. I thought maybe a natural disaster, but I'm starting to think it might be AI. Maybe both. 🤷🏽

If there was a manager even near the level of Antonio Conte available and willing to come to Spurs, I think Frank would be gone.

That said, it still seems like Spurs have still not learned the concept of sunk cost. I thought this was a Levy thing, but it might just be a rich person thing?
You make a plan and you stick to it, but part of that plan has to be what do we do if the guy we hired is a total disaster
Feels like if you end up in a place where the manager must be given multiple seasons no matter what because previously the club fired too many managers you have possibly overcorrected

AI doomerism is now a global grift. Geoff Hinton, the supposed "godfather of AI," never talks about the current harms caused by LLMs, only the supposed things to be scared of. He believes Google - who sells AI to CBP and the military - acts "very responsibly."

Another myth is that Anthropic is "more efficient than OpenAI" and will "break even." Anthropic raised $16.5bn compared to OpenAI's $18.3bn in 2025, and burns billions of dollars too. Both are horribly unprofitable with no path to sustainability.

Yeah, I think an influencer is different than being (at least potentially) influential.

I mean, we're all influencing each other all the time, whether intentionally or not. Like if someone knits a cool thing and posts it, I might be influenced to try to knit it myself. But they're not an influencer

I might be misremembering - I was quite young at the time - but I think I remember when news organizations started using "allegedly."
It seemed very weird to me then. Nevertheless, moving away from it now does not strike me as a good thing.

“I do. Lots of these guys, they’re not hero-heroes. They’re just people trying to do the right thing, despite what the world has tried to force them to be.

I think meeting you, it might do them some good.” She gave a knowing smile and offered a business card. “Maybe you won’t be a good fit. +

After thinking about it a bit more, I think I might actually wait until plugins are back before diving into the new patch after all.

If that means staying off social media til then to avoid spoilers, so be it. Tbh, some time away from the internet probably wouldn't be a bad thing.

Why did Katharine Birbalsingh do a currently unreleased debate for The Spectator with known ethno-nationalist, racist, Islamophobe and anti-Semite Connor Tomlinson?

She even acknowledges in S2 the whole hotel thing only came about because she thought it might get her mom to come back. In fact I can't even think of a time where Charlie says sinners don't deserve to be in Hell, only that they have the capacity to earn their way out.
