Electronic Intifada has shared multiple videos of Hamas fighters sneaking up to convoys of IDF vehicles and dropping explosives into unguarded but occupied tanks sitting still with their hatches open, killing those inside. I firmly believe that and the behavior reported here are related.

They care about staying in office, they care about their wealthy donors, and they care about their collegial relationships with Republican colleagues.
getting harder to argue that the establishment democrats actually care about winning and accomplishing things, isn't it. in the sense of defeating the republicans and enacting the policies they run on, anyway

Yup, and the damage isn’t so much in the story as in the proof of weakness. Trump now knows he has new torture tools to make Dems do what he wants. It’s why at least one of the 7 capitulators oughta be run out of office now, mid session. Get that number down to 6. www.offmessage.net/p/16-thought...

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.
Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

This is just that old Fox News screenshot about the percentage of poor people with refrigerators all dressed up. Yes, many things are substantially better. Some very important things are worse. Either way nothing is the way people on the left generally agree that it should be.
It’s insane. In 1960 people spent 10% of their annual income on clothing - and despite that, only purchased about 20 items.
Today, we spend 2% of our annual income on clothing, and purchase an average of about 70 items per year.
But Bluesky leftists are convinced this means we’re getting POORER

The truth is not "more nuanced," the truth is that none of these people are narco terrorists.

Trump has accused boat crews of being narco-terrorists. The truth, AP found, is more nuanced

You'd think Donald Trump was Putin and they were in danger of spending decades in prison for opposing him but no, it's just that if the value of their company's stock drops in the slightest because Trump said something about their DEI programs then so will their net wealth
Imagine being worth $250 billion and giving a fuck what Republicans think

They’re wearing masks so they can’t be prosecuted later. As long as they think they can’t be prosecuted, their crimes will intensify. They will torture, starve and kill, as they have already, on greater and greater scale.

I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

I have seen some Israeli commentators express fear that a sufficiently motivated USG could expand this sidelining of Israel into the West Bank.
More reporting from the Israeli press seems to further confirm that the US has effectively taken over day to day decision making from the Israelis on Gaza— exacerbating fears in both the government and opposition that a precedent has been set for the internationalization of the Palestinian question.

There are still people on here arguing over who should have compromised their principles to prioritize beating Trump. Should the left have put aside its opposition to genocide? Or should the centrists have put aside their commitment to doing genocide? What a quandry. The argument rages on.
