Yesterday I canceled Netflix. The only thing I ever watch on there us Seinfeld, and paying $18/month for Seinfeld is absurd. Anyway, guess what I found at the thrift store today

Thread on what’s been happening while the US has been mainlining slop
2/ Chinese firms have committed $227+ billion across 461 green manufacturing projects in 54 countries since 2011 - with 88% of investment occurring just since 2022. This dwarfs the $200 billion Marshall Plan (in today's dollars).

I’ve been saying it for ages, what we’re seeing is a repackaging of the “ain’t no Black in the Union Jack” nationalism of the 60s, 70s and 80s
History doesn’t repeat itself, it rhymes
Britain beat the far-right then, and we’ll do it again

These are the voters’ “legitimate concerns” that we’ve been told to take seriously for decades.
Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin, “It drives me mad seeing adverts full of black people, full of Asian people, full of anything other than white"
Followed by that time Sarah Pochin said, "My kids say: mum, you're such a moron" 👀

This is the third death that I'm aware of this year where a person died trying to flee from ICE.
A man fleeing ICE agents ran out onto a busy highway and was struck and killed in Virginia, authorities say.

If we fined the water companies £150 for every 300ml of pollution they put into our rivers and seas, they would clean up their act PDQ.
So water companies polluting rivers and seas is fine, but chucking leftover coffee down the drain is where the council draws the line?
This is madness

4 grounding questions [if useful at this moment]:
1. What resources exist so I can better educate myself [about x issue]?
2. Who's already doing work around this injustice?
3. Do I have the capacity to offer concrete support & help to them?
4. How can I be constructive?
