2 months into playing tuba after a break of 34 years and just had my first (ensemble) performance on the weekend. Having fun.

It's Xmas 1993, you've gotten your grubby mitts on an Argos catalog, and you're playing "if Santa could bring me one item from each of these pages, what would I choose." So! What's gonna be in your stocking, then? 😁

there’s no amount of good faith that beats bad faith. you beat bad faith with fire*, not argument.

Look, there is no way to avoid TPUSA. You can give trolls a C-, B, B+. It won't matter. They can even get an A overall but if you give the feedback the very constructive OU instructor did, you're on the list. The assignment could be 2% of the grade (it might be in that class!). There is no defense.

There are two big challenges. Identifying the top 1 or 10% if you're not a developer, and attracting that percentage to work on your boring problem because they likely have good jobs already.

My band played a Sony showcase at Sega World in Sydney in the late '90s and I got to mingle with the teenaged crowd and kick their arses at Virtua Fighter.
Sega just out here in the 1990s having 15-hour raves where you could play a bunch of Virtua games.

If you scroll on X, you are only being shown what Elon wants you to see. If you create content on X, no one will see it unless Elon wants them to.
