My family so far has one car. Kids' activities threaten this model. And so i am grateful all the time for parents willing to carpool--we take, you return--and my colleague/friends who chauffeur me to work dinners. I want to do more, so much more of this. We can all lift each other's loads

Dems need to run in every district. Our gerrymander gives Rs very thin margins. And maybe getting thinner. We have A LOT of districts.
You gotta wonder if Texas Republicans are looking at their new congressional map and wondering if they made a huge mistake.

Our votes are going predictably bad in Texas. Overwhelmingly stupid const amendments. But not just Texas, Texasing, Austin faced an enormous campaign against Prop Q, a barebones tax to maintain homeless services/parks/etc in the face of state cuts to taxes. And we are voting no. And it sucks
All 17 Texas Constitution amendments on verge of approval
The propositions include restrictions on the creation of certain taxes, new tax exemptions, investments on water infrastructure and dementia research.

A thread about Bsky, angelic historians, and black history. Edward T. Rhone faced racial discrimination in 1897 in Duluth. He sued under the MN civil rights act. He was born into slavery in Arkansas. I found Rhones there but I couldn't link him to them. Enter historian @lisachildsar.bsky.social
