another thing: the classic male power fantasy in american culture is extremely masturbatory. almost none of us will ever have the opportunity to rescue a damsel in distress or fight off an attacker or whatever. but simply being kind and generous is open to us every day and can be extremely heroic
this is a really beautiful video in its own right but also an example of what a real "Joe Rogan of the left" would look like: someone who can perform a positive vision of masculinity, one that's not toxic. it wouldn't be partisan or hackish or whatever they're actually imagining.
I love this so much and I am absolutely tearing up about it. The gentleness and plainness of this, the way he just lets her be her (and she seems so damn lovely, who wouldn’t?), the generosity.
It isn’t going to solve the world’s problems, but this kind of humanity is a hell of a start.

I did an event in DC & there was a party for donors etc after. Was talking to 2 ppl & I said "Things are so bad." They said "No this is how it is. Things swing one way, then another. It's normal."

All of Mpls has suffered some brand damage from their alarmist emails, so I’d suspect this is just the Apparatus crowd introducing an off-brand. (Apparatus is an influence shop of Frey folks that were the prime All of Mpls contractors. Some of those folks have scattered more recently.)
