this is a disorienting moment for elder millennials imo because many of us had the 2004-2006 elections as like our formative memory and so there’s a real whiff of IT’S ALL HAPPENING AGAIN that is destabilizing even if you try to resist it

I just finished testifying in front of a NJ State Senate hearing against a bill that would weaken our fight against corruption. I stood alongside AG Platkin and Comptroller Walsh to call on state senators and members of the assembly to vote against this wrong move.

The bigger thing about Nalin (& a lot of Gen Z conservatives) is that they try to center young people's economic struggles rhetorically don't actually offer anything new on econ policy. All his answers to economic struggles are "we need less immigrants", which is already established Trump policy

Trump gets the most generous press of any American in US history and there’s no close second
try to imagine the media firestorm if the military was conducting strikes and obama, clinton, or biden said "i dont know anything about it" and how the media just shrugs at trump saying the same thing.
talking to reporters last night, Trump claimed of Hegseth's double tap strike that "I don't know anything about it," then moments later claimed "I don't who you're talking about" when asked his plan to pardon the former Honduran president

here's my take on Woke 2. the thing about Woke 1 is that it's born from the end of history era, when it was important to re-discover forms of oppression that had been denied or hidden. but this led to a [clears throat] hermeneutics of suscpicion, and ultimately paranoia and internecine factionalism

We’re like 7 days removed from finding out the guy killing kids by encouraging the spread of deadly childhood disease was fucking the person covering his campaign, and she was catching and killing scandals about him.

Journalists don’t deserve better.

A lawsuit previously alleged that David Gentile—just pardoned by Trump— was an associate of Russian organized crime figure and oligarch Michael Cherney.

A business news outlet found that Cherney’s daughters benefited from some of Gentile’s earliest dealings.

everyone wants there to be an easier or flashier answer than winning like a thousand Democratic primaries for offices other than the presidency but there is not an easier or flashier answer than winning like a thousand Democratic primaries for offices other than the presidency
this is a perfectly good theory which presents the problem that it has not happened once in american history
Independent, pro-worker, class warrior candidates can absolutely beat Republicans in red states if they are not tainted by the Democratic Party brand. The labor movement can make this happen systematically.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."

Lot of thoughts about That Article, but one thing that made me scream. The cost of childcare was not zero! That our system devalues feminized care labor doesn’t make it actually free. Opportunity costs are a thing, childcare is more expensive because of Baumol, not because it was free before.

Really encouraged by a good portion of the comments coming from people who say this is wholly good and returning this historic streetcar suburb to the roots it came from.

Meanwhile, the person who posted this literally sublets a room in a single family home. Rank hypocrisy.

He thought Christie vetoing his curated inclusionary zoning bill would have gotten me on his side, instead of throwing out examples against it.
