Watching football with my mom for Thanksgiving, pretending to root for her Cowboys. It’s great already. Dak fist-bumps everyone before the first play, and of course she says “That’s a lot of fisting.”

From the MN Society for Professional Journalists: St. Paul police shot three photojournalists (MPR, Reuters, Sahan Journal) with "less lethal" munitions during an ICE operation yesterday. One had to go to the hospital. They say they were specifically targeted by St. Paul police.

Police Chief Henry should be fired
I am furious and devastated that ICE was once again present in Saint Paul and that federal agents continue to jeopardize the safety and well-being of our residents. The destruction this White House has caused our city in just a matter of days is unconscionable.

It’s quite *interesting * that St. Paul police show up and are masking just like the feds/ICE.
For the second time in a week, a federal law enforcement operation drew protesters in St. Paul on Tuesday. The latest operation happened on the 600 block of Rose Street East — a residential area in the city’s Payne-Phalen neighborhood.

There was no immediate confirmation about the nature of the operation, but an MPR News photographer captured images of federal agents on the scene, including at least three from Homeland Security Inve...

Monitoring? That’s it? Are you committed to publicly supporting the sanctuary state legislation? Restoring the healthcare you stripped away from undocumented immigrants who are adults? Banning the egregious human rights violations we saw today? Thought so.
We are monitoring the situation in St. Paul and working to understand what unfolded. We received no heads up from federal authorities on this operation.

While we are always willing to work together on public safety, that is clearly not what this chaotic situation was about.

the funny thing is, all of our allegedly Strong Mayors are actually Weak Mayors when it comes to controlling their cops
WATCH St. Paul police, aiding ICE, restrain a man and spray him full in the face. They are not and have never been on our side.

Having worked on the inside to pass the 2040 Plan: Jacob is worse than useless.
My response to random national YIMBY accounts celebrating our mayor is that most of the people I recognize who were actively engaged in the local fight to pass the 2040 plan think Jacob Frey is useless at best. And weirdly his base is people who fought tooth and nail against it.

I hope @dewayneforminneapolis.com doesn't mind me retelling a story he told me when we first met last winter. I kept it to myself because he wasn’t telling it publicly but he mentioned it yesterday. It’s one of the things that’s leading me to rank him first. A hope-its-ok-and-I-get-right 🧵:
Yesterday, I hosted an incredible event, "Ward 8 for a New Mayor." We talked about why we need a new mayor and then @jazzformayor.bsky.social , @omarfatehmn.com , and @dewayneforminneapolis.com laid out why they should be our next mayor. I came away excited about all of them and will rank all three!
