Also, they probably see this sign on the way into Saint Paul, and just turn around.

At least one Ward 4 candidate, @coleforward4.bsky.social, has been talking about that throughout their campaign. www.coleforward4.org/vision

Feeling like it's just a matter of days until:
- Iran or some other actor attacks a Trump property
- Trump uses the U.S. military to retaliate
- Trump uses the U.S. military to protect all his properties
- Trump uses the U.S. FEMA budget to finance the repairs to his property

I feel so appreciated.

Remembering times when we weren’t allowed to have art installations or solar panels or certain styles of street lights or sidewalk planters because it wouldn’t reflect the character of the historic district. Our mistake for asking permission.

Woof. I guess I know who -didn't- send out this survey.
May 16, 2025 at 5:16 PM
I think I'd like more choices.

Like, maybe I'm misreading this sheet, but it looks like we're asking for far less density now, with higher per-unit values, and letting the developer off the hook for taxable values for the next few years.

Definitely seems like it would require a site review. How would someone check up on that?

Hey @reubencollins.bsky.social, looks like there's an opportunity for the city to hold that property owner accountable for proper design this time.

lulz that he just recycled the website from his brief 65B campaign last year, dropping "For Minnesota". Maybe after he gets stomped this year he'll drop the "For Saint Paul".

It’d sure be nice to have a place to sit while waiting for the bus.

Seeing this on the same day that the city council pointed out they still haven't been sent the city's 2025 legislative agenda. Has the city already been lobbying for this and other items in 2025 without an approved legislative agenda?

Can someone help me understand why the failed SP City Council tie-vote from a couple weeks back didn't result in a rejection of the Ryan Companies variance request? It seems like everyone's reading only the first part of the statute, and ignoring the second. www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/cit...

Agreed, though not always super-productive.

Thought of you today, as I passed the St. Paul Capitol City Parking Lane.
January 12, 2025 at 12:38 AM
Yeah... Saint Paul is "Phase 6", so we'll see if that holds up. Just for context, we're been hearing "soon" for over a decade.

Maybe a difference in version or platform for the app? Ours has the y-axis, though the data looks questionable, and they have a whole page for disclaimers. (If it’s accurate, oof.)
December 16, 2024 at 2:32 PM
Yeah, that was some extremely disingenuous origami. Here's an apples-to-apples comparison of original budget increases vs. the amendments. For all the gnashing of teeth, SPPD is still getting a record increase.
December 12, 2024 at 4:09 AM
Yeah... the detail sheet from the council agenda shows they're proposing a net reduction of... $700k? From an increase of $9M? So it's still the largest annual budget increase ever for the SPPD?

Couldn’t resist picking it up from Subtext. I love that place so much, and try to steer all of my book purchases there.

Oof. Mea culpa. I completely misread their Executive Summary, missing the commas in their parentheticals. The actual report spells it out better. I'll shut up now.

Would there have been a Site Plan Review back in 2011/2012 when that lot was redesigned/repaved, removing the setbacks and planters? It feels like the city does have at least one tool, and DSI just doesn't use it. library.municode.com/mn/st._paul/...
