I should introduce myself: I'm Soula, and I wrote a novel called Wild Geese which came out last year. It won the Lambda Literary Award for Trans Fiction and the Gordon Bowker Volcano Prize for writing about being away from home. I think it's good #queerwriters footnotepress.com/books/wild-g...

It's hard not to see the aggressive sexual language of GCs (shouting "penis, penis, penis" at Judith Butler at the Royal Festival Hall to give a recent example) as a class flex. They know they're allowed to say things their opponents can't, and they get off on the impunity
I'm kind of convinced that there's a sort of hygiene politics in the UK that finds trans people dirty and therefore anti trans people are clean.

This same politics finds overt Nazism and Trumpist rhetoric dirty too. The reason there's some line drawing to distinguish is because of that.
The British media love Stock because they love gender fascism

A Small Press Book We Love: Little Blue Encyclopedia (For Vivian) by Hazel Jane Plante
Small presses have had a rough year, but as the literary world continues to conglomerate, we at Literary Hub think they’re more important than ever. Which is why, every (work) day in March—wh…

Of course, Professor Dame Baroness Saint Hilary Cass *could* come out and defend her review's recommendations but she only seems to do that when trans people criticise it
Confirmation they are now targeting the puberty blocker trial saying that "It beggars belief that, after the Cass Review, we would even consider a clinical trial of puberty blockers"

This is a recurrent feature of anti-trans radicalisation: bored, comfortable people in their 50s/60s with grown-up kids, trying to regain the thrill of parental authority by becoming "the adults in the room" attacking "noisy, immature activists"
I know the material reasons for the rise of fascism. I also think another reason - which doesn’t get talked about as much because it’s embarrassing that humans can be that naive - is that when you are financially comfortable but bored, abstract cruelty can give you a sense of purpose.

I'm not one to blame political trends on stuff that annoys me online, but the Leopards Eating People's Faces reply is such an empty yet corrosive bit of posturing. STOP IT!
Just saw a thread about a guy calling into cspan saying his diabetic supplies increased from 5 dollars to 80 dollars and somebody in the comments, probably multiple people but I stopped reading, replied “FAFO” and I can’t stress enough how much you need to stop doing that shit

Last week, a number of prominent UK feminists declared Donald Trump a "feminist hero" for banning trans women from playing sports.

How did we get here? A new book by @reproutopia.bsky.social explores how reactionary tendencies have created Enemy Feminisms throughout the history of feminism
‘I won’t cede the ground’: Sophie Lewis wants feminists to know their enemies – even if they’re other feminists
In a new book, Enemy Feminisms, the scholar traces a line from reactionary tendencies in history to anti-trans feminists enabling the far right today

His illiquidity is the danger. He has to keep doing shit like this. The Not Actually Real Money Bus must be kept above $200 billion or it will explode. All of this shit is basically debt and blackmail and it's forcing people like Musk into increasingly precarious and dangerous positions.
may be beside the point/extremely obvious but i feel like you can only ignore extreme wealth inequality for so long before it metastasizes into something that fundamentally remakes and destabilizes the world by giving people access to so much money that they are fully above consequence
