On @newstalkfm.bsky.social this morning talking about the urgent need to remove the mandatory 3 day wait for abortion care. Its against @who.int best practice, adds to an already overloaded GP system, disproportionately impacts the most vulnerable, & causes distress.

One of the students yesterday asked what he could do and my answer was something, anything. So many people are stuck waiting for someone else to take the first step. We we don't then who will.

I'm glad in part that so few people actually use Bluesky or in anyway interact with it because I can have a full blown rant and only a handful of people will see it 😆

As for the the use of victims therapy notes in cases, just stop! It is already hard enough to get people through the process without that. Yet so many of our TDs are strugging their shoulders and saying no ban needed.

Opposition TDs demand full ban on therapy notes in court
Therapists do not condone "retraumatising" victims of sexual abuse through the use of counselling notes in criminal trials, the Dáil has been told.

So yeah, I don't think someone's ability to play sports, work a job, be in a social club should play any sort of a part in their conviction. "Oh but they were always nice to me" ewww, no.

Me... I didn't know the damage 😆 pretty much everyday for 9-13 I was raped but we've got to think about the publicity 🙄 Can't have people know the actual facts! No, reputations are on the line!

All those people who write letters to support the perpetrators, I don't think they realise that often the victims get to see them too. This line always makes me nauseous from one of the "character" references offer to the rapist in my case.

I'm probably going to delete all of these as although I have no shame about what happened to me, I hate when people give me sad eyes.

I'm open about what happened to me and the entire process... why? Because other people can't be.
My talk was title "I know her" as I'm in the public eye people say that a lot and make assumptions about my background. I've a carefully curated public character. She doesn't not have cPTSD, while I do.

Yeah, going to talk about this for a minute. From reporting to the gardai to conviction took over 3 years of very little communication about what was happening. Pretty sure the system is in place to make people quit, that way the country doesn't have to take a good hard look at itself.
Yesterday I gave a talk about my experience dealing with the justice system as a survivor of CSA. I was one of the "lucky" ones who got a conviction.
Giving this talk fills me with so many emotions but mostly rage at how unjust the entire system is. It is so heavily weighed against the victims.

The use of the counselling notes of victims in court cases is cruel, inhumane and abusive - it is morally and ethically abhorrent, counter to every single tenet of therapeutic practice, and a final betrayal of an already profoundly traumatised person.

The US Holocaust Museum being more outraged by Tim Walz saying that, like Anne Frank, children today are in hiding from armed agents of the state, than they are about the fact that children are in hiding from armed agents of the state, is why Holocaust remembrance culture is in crisis.

The quote in the title "The worst thing I’ve ever experienced" refers to a young teenager's experience in the new NHS gender clinics for under 18s.

The article evidences the many harms within these clinics that were designed, post Cass Review, to be less affirmative than the older GIDS service 2/4
