even if I think labeling anyone "father of indie games" is dubious I have to admit I am amused by the contrast of saying "not jon blow, but Pixel(cavestory)" in that the former has become a raging misogynist while the latter quietly and pseudo-anonymously posts furry art on here once a month or so

My private equity owned dentist does things a little differently. I pay a monthly fee to keep the teeth I already have, and if I unsubscribe they send a guy to knock them out

My relationship with Massive Attack's Heligoland is so weird. If you asked me point blank for my top 5 albums wouldn't list it, but I've listened to it 3-4 times a year minimum every year since 2014, so on some level it *must* be a favorite

Watching Invincible and my only complaint is that the Korean animation studio does not know America well enough to be naming specific cities.

Mark gets punched to Chicago where there is an NYC style *subway* entrance (should be the L) then punched into the station and it's Gallery Place (DC metro)

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

There are only two situations where I've seen people actually use the term:

1. Lesbian parents when specifying which of the two of them gave birth

2. Trans men and non-binary people who have kids using that term *for themselves*

But Ana made it about her for no reason at all.

This is a really disturbing story on several levels and certainly anyone who interacts with the Pentagon specifically or the administration more generally should read it:
I asked the Pentagon about Pete Hegseth's mentor. Then the threats started.
Journalism in the second Trump administration gets personal.

this is similar to what I've come to think of as the "reverse turing test"

when people find synthetic text is "good enough" to complete a task (homework, business report, email) it doesn't mean the machine is smart. it means they were asked to produce something that didn't matter

it's diagnostic
So similarly, when we see people who prefer ChatGPT or a similar synthetic text extruding machine as a source of medical information, that means those are people who are under-served in the current system.

I'm not gonna act like Kingkiller is beyond reproach but a lot of the criticism of it comes down to "I don't like that it realistically portrays the kind of unreliable narration and storylines that a toxicly masculine narrator would tell" as if the extreme unreliability wasn't the point

i know this makes me extremely unusual for an american but I would literally rather be called a "negro" than "african american" in most contexts. like obv "black" is preferred but tbh "negro" has been out of use for so long that it feels better than over-academic language to me

YES I'm glad this functionality worked, we added it super last minute and didn't get to test much!

(In Angeline Era if you clear 3/6 of your first action levels with no deaths, it asks if you'd like to turn up the difficulty so as to try to fit players with a suitable difficulty!)
rare case where a video game asks me to pick a *harder* difficulty. yeah sure why not. kill me
