It's amazing how often they have to make up stuff to show what they believe to be true and still the penny doesn't drop.

They’re all ‘boomer’ era type people too. The first examples of this sort of thing I saw were Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney both apparently putting out press statements grieving Charlie Kirk.

What made it more bizarre was that he’d sold it while living in the north east. He’s currently living in Peterborough, so a day trip to Shrewsbury would’ve been feasible.

But for his car to be sold to someone who just happened to be Aldi at the same time as me, on the opposite side of the country?

My dad had personalised plates for years. I phoned him one morning when coming out of Aldi in Shrewsbury, I saw his car, with his plates.

“Why are you in town?”

“I’m not.”

“Has your car been stolen?”

We established that he’d sold the car, including the plates.
