It's actually a good point that the "Hang my opponents!" has a long and storied history in US politics. The key ad campaign against Jackson was "If he's elected, he's going to HANG EVERYONE"
Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Those who are wailing about this reminder to our military about not following unlawful orders are also laboring under the misguided notion that the military swears allegiance to a president. They don't. They pledge an allegiance to the United States Constitution.

MAHA CDC's lie about ignored studies? That's not "cautious" that's "we're going to put out propaganda using junk science to rehabilitate Andrew Wakefield"

At the point at which you're defending research misconduct / human subjects violations like this, I don't know what to say.
This is how I interpret it. Decades of research still show no link between vaccines and autism. CDC’s new wording is cautious, not a shift in science. We need transparency, strong evidence, and clear communication—while countering misinformation that harms public trust.

know how I've been saying that some in public health will embrace MAHA? treat it like a legitimate public health project instead of the fascist, eugenicist purge to 'MAGA-ify the gene pool' that it is?

Others, like JHU, will point out the lies: publichealth.jhu.edu/2025/the-evi...

The House has voted unanimously to repeal the provisions in the shutdown package which allow GOP Senators to sue the federal government and get as much as $1 million in damages - because the feds looked at their phone records in the Jan. 6 investigation.

Weird how conservatives didn't mention all those years that they think it's fine to fire people for their beliefs! What an unfortunate misunderstanding we've had around this. Oh well!

It's one thing to say that AI and crypto are bubbles. It's another to watch senior US government officials use their positions to cash in on it.

Let's be inclusive of our CAD operators, drafters, surveyors and opensource colleagues in addition to ESRI users during these festive times! 🌈

How many women were forced out of careers, out of opportunities, out of money or potential because of that bastard? And he gets to walk off quietly?
